most demotivating thing i've seen since the last time i paid attention to congress:

I was watching the SAFC hearings on budget sequestration (from this past week) and apparently the most important topic to discuss wasn't the effects of sequestration, the long term financial drawbacks to it, etc. No, it was to create a crusade about why the UCMJ is failing victims of sexual-assault, and how the military is wrong because of it.

Not that there may or may not be an issue to redress with the UCMJ, but that's largely something for CIVILIAN lawmakers to handle independently. On their own time. When there aren't pressing issues compromising our national security on the table...not to mention 4-stars whose time could be better spent actually doing something productive...rather than being forced to sit around while our cardassian-esque legislators enamor themselves with the sounds of their own voices.

Worse, although the one case being brought up was reportedly a USAF issue, they were grilling a USMC 4-star about his views on the matter. wtf.
