I like chat but I think there are a lot of issues that are being discussed instead of threads created to build on our data base of information.
We will not survive without technical information.
I don't think cutting down on the chat section of this forum is going to merit a positive increase in the tech sections. Truth be told, I don't post a lot in the tech sections as I no longer drive a 3S (though I still own a VR4). I do enjoy browsing it though as the passion never leaves. I think this sub forum actually generates a rather substantial amount of this sites traffic. However, I agree that there is more groundwork to be made on this site.
See something you want in tech? Wonderful idea called CUT AND PASTE.
I'm not bashing chat at all.
I just would like to see more threads created for everyones benefit.
Just nicely asking to keep it in mind when you have technical issues.
That will rarely work.
When ever you log on, chat will only show the last what, 30 or so lines. You miss a lot, also, it is hard during work, when say I can pop onto this site maybe once every hour for a little 5 minute break.
Any discussion that was going on or is going on currently is of no use to me as I cannot be active in chat or be able to stay on long enough to follow any information that is being posted that I may be interested in. I am sure Granny and I are not the only ones who feel this way.
I know topics are being discussed here, yet I still search 3Si because there I can find the information, here it is lost in chat.

I don't know about useful things in chat, right now Chris Hill is talking about Integra Girl for instance....
Proof: Ninja Performance: integra girl...NOOOOOOO
TBH I don't ever see a lot of tech put in chat anyway. Personally, if I have anything tech-related to say, I put it in the forums.
Good point for the original poster, plus you have a better chance of it being answered by many if you post a thread.
It was more of a reference of if you see an interesting topic come up, cut and paste it. We utilize this on a local forum to capture data that is brought up in chat (and then threads are spawned off those discussions).
Wasn't what I was getting at, but thank you for sharing? Most everything on these cars that is asked in chat has been answered somewhere on one of the major boards. It was saying that if ANYONE sees something they want to discuss further in chat, cut/paste and start a thread to have the discussion continue.
