What is the weight differance (regulators, wiring and switches) between power windows and crank windows?
Would swapping them out help any?

if you lost a half pound to a pound id be really surprised... i think the difference is negligable. if you really want to lose some weight though. you could go to fixed lexan windows and remove it all. but then again at the same time, you could just as easily move to carbon fibre fenders, hood, rear hatch, sails.. im sure theres even more out there i havent seen.
I never knew manual windows were an option, I was under the impression that all 3s's had electric windows.

does anybody make lexan windows?
yes, 3sx sells them, iirc. and i agree with the above. the only significant weight savings would be if you fixed the windows. otherwise, you're not really saving much weight.
p.s.
yes, manual was an option (i think). i kinda want a set of those for the novelty...and because i've never heard of any manual windows malfunctioning on our cars.
i don't think 3sx sells them anymore...i don't see them on the site..
try speed glass.
It was the super Base model cars that had crank window. I've seen only one set EVER so I know they are out there just super rare. The door panels would be just as hard to find.
Lexan windows will need a frame bar to make is solid around the top too
Percys has gone out of business.
Also you could save a few pounds at the most if you switched to crank, but you would have to remove all the wiring and extra switches to make any difference, its not worth it. However as mentioned just bolting them in place saves quite a bit, i remover all wiring in the doors, all window tracks motors, brackets ect., and my doors were noticably lighter last year.
Now i have no door bars or anything in there, but i dont recommend that for safety reasons.
