Clutch for high torque and grab

Going on that flywheel that pops up every once in a blue moon (the chromoly one Lehkume and Spalsbury came up with). Not sure if anyone knew that flywheel was a 7" Evo adapted flywheel so we can bolt on any EVO clutch. Well, TMZ builds a badass twin disc that's much beefier than any clutch I've seen out there besides the Giken.

I was going to go with the Tilton OT-2 but this CM clutchpack fits a Tilton OT-2 clutch and pp.

Basically $400 for what you see here. All you need is the flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, and HTOB (since the stock fork will not fit without being modified due to the geometry requirements).

No more stripped output shafts since it pretty much contacts the entire tooth area :)

Are you planning on using this setup? I should have jumped on a tilton setup while I had the chance. I guess I'll wait until another one pops up and I have the money for it.

I am not running a Zimmer Clutchpack. His design is badass though and should be considered by anone who wants a race proven clutch! Better than Giken, Clutchmaster, and RPS if you ask me. On point with a Tilton but better for the shaft splines for sure though.

I've been looking into a Tilton...decided I'm actually better off sticking with the RPS and getting it refurbed.

keen to see what peoples experiences are with other models to see if they can match the RPS's quietness and ease of modulation while improving the clutch separation at higher RPM for faster changes.

nice find man. i love the one piece hub design . do you think the discs would fin into tilton's floater, cover and pressure plates?

I run an OS Geiken RC3 and that grabs too well some of the time, 3 bigger diameter sintered disks..

Dude, seriously, the OT2. Cheap, proven, cheap, holds a lot of power, cheap, easy to find, cheap, non proprietary, and it's also...get this....cheap!

I must have missed this convo in the past. You adapted an evo FW then just used the evo OT2? How much does it cost to do this and how is the FW modified? If you don't mind me asking.

Yes, they are Evo flywheels. Any clutch you can install on an Evo 5-8 can be installed on a 3000gt with these flywheels.

On the original version the ring gears were cut off the stock flywheel and welded on a Evo flywheel. In order to get the flywheel SFI certified by
SEMA they had to be remade as a solid billet piece. Erron started a group buy for the flywheels about 4 years ago.

Out of all the Evo clutches that can be adapted Tim Zimmers application is the best because of the amount of spline contact area on the input shaft and the reinforced center sprocket. Its a bitchin design!
