Tial 50mm BOV options?
I'm trying to get all my parts sorted, for my '91 Talon Tsi AWD build that will be finishing up the end of this week.
I've got a FMIC kit coming (1G DSM) that's made by SlowBoyRacing.
The intercooler piping to the throttle body has a Tial 50mm BOV flange.
What is my cheapest option right now to get a working BOV on that intake pipe? Is it a $20 mild steel coupler on eBay I can weld onto another pipe to adapt a stock BOV or something to the 50mm coupler, for now?
Am I stuck staying with my stock intercooler until I can afford a real $240 Tial BOV? Anything cheaper that uses that Tial flange?
and what's a good Tial BOV spring for a modded DSM with FMIC and Big 16G turbo? 7-11psi spring?

What kind of piping is used on the FMIC? You could just cut out that section of pipe and weld in a new section and then choose the flange of your choice (if stock, just hack up your stock IC pipe for the flange).

buy a tial...? :dontknow:

Yeah its all good, I was just wondering, and I don't have the intercooler here yet.

"New SBR FMIC kit for a 1g. The kit will come with a gm mas and a coupler to run without a gm mas. The kit will also include a non leaking N/T throttle body. This kit has only been installed, it has 0 miles"
he PM'd me its the Tial wastegate flange

I couldn't imagine selling that as a FMIC kit. 3S owners would not have that
-
lmao, exactly what do you mean?
not complete enough of a 'kit'?
it was just $300 of used parts, instead of over $500 for the SBR 'kit' new..
I'm getting a 2.02 version of the 1G MAF Translator for $75

That 2ft section of hose coupler looks pretty hokie if you ask me. I'm not a huge fan of using silcone bends if you really don't need to. They are expensive, and they flex like crazy when boosting.

We got a used red Tial for sale right now
ImportPawnShop.com | Your Trusted Source for Used Aftermarket Performance Parts!
Make sure you pay close attention to that FMIC, we are constantly fixing these for customers, the welds right along the core like to blowout. You might save yourself some headaches and just have someone weld the shiz out of it now before you install it so it doesnt break.

Oh awesome. I'll see what the welds look like when I get it, and I'll keep an eye on it.
I've still gotta sort the BOV, I'll wait to install FMIC kit till I'm ready.
But I did just get a 2.02 version 1G MAF Translator for just $75.. so I can use that with the MAF sensor included with the FMIC kit.
VERY EXCITE
I'm debating on exhaust I want to upgrade. I'm thinking for overall and mid-range performance and sound... NOT just top HP goal.. I'll go with 2.5" mandrel bent instead of 3"

I got my Tial used for 170.00 right here off the forums .. The BOV is designed to run off of your stock engines vacuum setting so whatever that is for your motor, you will need to buy a corresponding spring or a new Tial with one installed .. For the VR4 is a 22pd Vac. which equals a 11 spring in the Tial .. Do a search on the tial spring settings for more info ..
