I was wondering what all different transmissions were available and compatible for different years. This is just for the n/a cars, but a thread documenting all the different models would be useful too. I would think they were all interchangeable other than flywheel and ecu / tcu issues, but that's just my best guess. Is there any documentation here or on 3si? Or can we post some up?

i do know that if you are doing a performance based FWD that you can convert an AWD transmission by welding the VCU. this makes the drive line lots stronger than the stock N/A 5 speed available.
From some searching, it looks like there maybe a difference in the atx from 93 +, but same for sohc and dohc
I still would like to know if there is a difference in the 5speeds across any of the years.
A list of all of the different trans model #s and what they are compatible with would be very helpful.
Also, it looks like some eclipses and talons use the same as a 3/s.
