Like the title says, im trying to figure out what a AWD swap would normally be worth and what parts they normally include.
It can be as simple as the rear brackets and subframe, or a full tt chassis swap with tranny, transfer case, driveshaft, front knuckles, and a oem TT suspension with lowering springs.
Just trying to figure out a good way to sell off some parts, if its worth it i'll sell it all in one big package.
thanks

Well there are different ways to do it.
Mine

Shooters (I did mine like this one)

Shooters 100% conversion

This is a list of people that have done it. He hasn't updated it in a long time.
FWD to AWD converted cars.. How many are there now? - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center
You could gauge interest before cutting the car up. I know Jason (PMP) was cussing me when he cut the front rear subframe mounts off for my car.
the most popular (imho, easiest) method of doing it involves cutting the mounts off the donor car. not really a good idea for a frame you want to continue to utilize.
I know how to remove the parts, just wondering what people usually pay for the swaps, and what they usually get. Im trying to sell all the stuff.
Cool idea, Austin. I'll be impressed if you find a profitable way to sling kits.
Sorry, I was just trying to show it depends on how you do it for what parts you need. I have no idea on a package thing. I don't think I've ever seen an AWD conversion sold as a package. I'd just make a list of everything and look up what people are getting for the parts then cut a % off for buying all the stuff.Quote:

No problem, I appreciate the help. Just wondering really if anyone had a number in there head. I have no idea what a package deal would be worth.
Kind of like a TT conversion, non really have the same parts. Like an ECU, radiator, etc.
Trans
Flywheel
transfer case
Driveshaft
Rear subframe and rear diff
AWS delete or TT power steering pump and rack.
Subframe Mounts
Front knuckles, half shafts, TT breaks
Some of the things you can offer for an AWD conversion off the top of my head.
i paid $900 shipped for the rear end i needed. came with subframe, 6-speed rear, struts, brakes, mounts cut from the frame. i considered that a fair price--since everything was in plug & play shape.
add in a transmission, differential, transfer case, aws delete, etc....and you start adding quite a bit more. even in used condition, i don't think you'd really make any profit off ALL the stuff necessary to do a FULL awd conversion, unless you were charging at least $2500-3000. and that's a fair estimate. it's also why i still say everyone should SERIOUSLY consider buying a vr4, rather than modding a fwd.
You aren't converting to RWD are you?Quote:

Once you figure it out let me know, I've been kicking around the idea for a while now and if I can get a good deal on the parts locally I might jump on it.
If your gonna come pick it up, i'll give you a good deal since that will save me a lot of work.
Heres what i got
25 spline trans rebuilt a year ago , output shaft is still good, but is worn.
25 spline t-case factory recall was done, spool is worn but again still held launches on slicks so, it'll work for now
5 speed shifter and cables, very clean and have bearings on the tranny end already
Stock driveshaft with under 80k on it, no vibrations
Complete rear subframe, with low mileage rear, good axles, and rear steering delete already done.
Front TT knuckles and axles, or just the whole front subframe with AWS rack if its easier.
Full set of TT brakes with newer rotors and pads
Not sure if the starter is different but i have that to.
Tell me what parts you want and tell me a price you think is fair.

I'm looking for parts to do my own awd swap. Would you sell the parts separately? Esp the subframe mounts..
That would be awesome Terry. If you do, take lots of pics and do a thread to help others that might want to do it. Also if you want some advice LMK. There are some things that I would have done different and there is a part I came up with that would work well but I'm not sure if it would be worth making it or not.Quote:

Like i said you tell me the price, and yes you will need the brackets as well as far as i know. I do have all of them if you need them.
PM me whatever you think is fair, since this is turning into a for sale thread.

why you selling ?
