That is a weird combination of both the stealth and 3K. It has parts from both on it. Shane one of our local members owns 2. One that's a parts car and one that runs. He knows literally where ALL of these original Strayman conversions are. I'll point him towards this post and maybe he can tell you more.
That is a 1991 stealth rt/tt straman conversion. The previous owner did not like the "banana" so he swapped it out for a base model 3kgt wing. It's a fairly low mileage garage kept car. I didn't know he'd sold it. It doesn't say how much they're asking for it that I saw. One tale tale sign of this one being a straman conversion is the straman badge on the side skirt. (many of the straman cars don't have those badges anymore for one reason or another.)
As for how rare it is.... it's one of about 15-20 straman conversions left. That is including both 3000gt and stealth conversion. I have recently found a couple new ones that I wasn't aware of. I also know of one that is rumored to live really really close to me, but I have never seen it myself. I have only heard about it. It's like an urban legend lol.
price????
that thing is minty!
Wow that looks great!!

Would love to have one!
didnt even knew they made stealth convertibles. rare ass car i bet. but the 3000gt spyder looks a little better. lol i still wouldnt mind driving this though. would turn quite a few heads.
Great, clean looking car... wish the owner would have kept it stock. Obviously it was bought as a "collector" car given the mileage, so why mod it when you are not going to drive it?
And it's $40,000

40k? hell no. sorry.
Throw a 96 spoiler, 2G TT rear bumper, and some 95-96 RT/TT wheels on that and you got pure sex.
I'll put it down as if I hit the lotto.
um 2G rear on a 1G RT TT is pure sex... and noone wants the 2G sides, they look the same as an Avenger coupe lol.. the rear without the exhaust cutouts looks awesome
Call me no one then:

And beyond the 96 spoiler and eventually a splitter and 575 hood, I wouldn't change another thing body wise.
A guy in Cali bought a yellow soft top 3000GT for $1,200 a couple months ago it was beat up but he still got a TT for a good price

yes, and we've had that discussion time and again. truthfully, i believe you won because of the amount of detail & care you put into maintaining it; not because you stumbled on a "magic combo" of OEM body parts. the lines just don't flow, imho. while it's not quite as abhorrent as mixing 3k 1g/2g sides/front, it's still awful. the 1g stealth r/t front bumper is an especially good fit for the 1g r/t rear bumper...given the shape around the lower edge of each.
p.s.
em, post a pic of a 1g stealth with a 96 banana. FULL 1g, none of this "half & half" crap.
p.p.s.
steve, 99 lights will look great on your car. you should also fill in the lower creases all around. :)
99 I have considered it, and not going to happen in filling in that lower crease ;)
Local guy here in KC has a black 91 RT Turbo with a 96 spoiler on it. It looks good. All I have are partial photos of it, and the wing was still red. I'll try to get a full photo with the repainted wing.Quote:

I'm with you on the mix-n-match stuff though. A lot of people don't seem to have the ability to see the car as a whole. You've got that 'love handle' on the bottom edge of the 1G stealth body parts, and then it abruptly ends at the door when you swap a 2G bumper on. It's even worse when you stick a 99 front end on it.
I see... yeah I don't halo glass headlights for anybody, to much of shipping PITA if they get broken in transit.
$40k?? hahahawow These have been selling for WAY under $20 with under 50k miles for years. Would love to have it, but FIRST thing that car needs is a 60k. Extreme low mileage can somtimes be worse than high mileage with all the rubber hoses in these cars...
you are right, a 2G should stay stock on the sides... :) but 1G sides would work nicely if they only blended in with the crease at the bottom of the 2G bumpers :(
