I think my heart skipped a beat when I read the title. Still shitty, but not as much :p. I take that you are alright though, that's the important part.

Yeah what's shitty is the paint job on that car :p There was actually a class action suit for repainting that I failed to qualify for due to age/miles. BUT, if things work out I might chip in a few bux on top of the insurance claim to make the paint nice again.

I was worried at first, but I don't see a problem now! All is well! :)

Well, my insurance confirmed the other driver was at fault :rolleyes:

They are sending me $4200 to fix the car. I'm seriously considering selling the car for whatever I can get and walking away with my check. With the miles at 114,000 it won't be long before I have to do a 120K service. I also checked kbb.com and it calculated a $4700 value so I figure if I can get 1-2K for the car I'm way ahead by selling it. Mechanically it's fine, the interior is good, the only problem is the paint and this new damage.

What say you?

You got a lot for that car. I like your idea. It would just be a pain trying to sell it.

That car must retail for quite a bit more than $4700, I can't imagine an insurance company paying out that close to value without totaling it.

Checked Autotrader - there's a big range but they do top out at 7-8K.

I filled out a couple of those on-line appraisals and came up with like $1200 trade value. I'm going shopping for a new DD, maybe an E90 335i 3-4 years old.

Buy me one while you're at it :)
