Is anyone repeatedly getting this stupid message?! I'm about to throw a brick through my computer screen. Nearly every page-refresh this window pops up.

Nope, never seen it before now.
It's really making me want to stop browsing from my work computer (although, it'd probably make me more productive during the day!). I don't get the message on my phone, or my laptop at home... just here. No idea WTF is causing it :(
Yep, it's a chrome+3sgto conflict. I get that chrome crash message half the time I press the back button on this site. Pretty sure it doesn't happen in firefox or other browsers.
Pressing refresh makes it go away, but yea, annoying.
edit: what chrome extensions do you have emilie? I always thought it was either a mac+chrome issue and/or my speed dial extension
chrome extension? no idea. I never had a problem until about a week ago, then all of a sudden it's crashing left and right.
In Google Chrome, click the Tool/wrench button -- > Tools --> Extensions
It could be an extension (a.k.a add-on) that is causing it. I'm not disabling mine to find out though, I've gotten use to it crashing. Chrome's modular design makes it so just that tab's .exe crashes, and not the whole app. It's definitely an issue with the site, as I do not get crashes on other vBulletin/phpBB boards.
Nope, never seen it. Im using firefox.
the only extension I had was Gmail. :dontknow: I disabled it, we'll see.
nevermind that... still crashed
Just upgraded to chrome 11 (dev version) from chrome 10 (stable version). So far no crashes, only been using it 10 mins though.

Shit your going to make me DL chrome to look into this aren't you.
yes. It's either that, or I have to download angry birds to entertain myself all day since I can't browse here  and I REALLY DON'T want to do that :p
chrome loaded.
Working fine.
Looks like its angry birds time for you ;)
why did this start happening all of a sudden though? like, within the last week...???
My guess is a bug with javascript handling(just based on watching it crash)
Try loading firefox 4
I just installed Chrome on 2 computers and they both crash on 3sgto when I go back and forth between pages =/.
I'll stick with Firefox :).
Its something in the image resize mod I have loaded.
I'll look more when I get home.
Chrome beta works for me too. Only happens when clicking on back and forward buttons in Chrome 10.
Yep, I can't get the crash to happen in chrome 11, where before with chrome 10 it would happen every other time I press the back button on this forum. I'd just update to 11 which is the dev version which can be found here.
Google never has let me down with beta products, hell gmail just recently left beta status and I've been using that since 2004.
I did not even realize Gmail was still in beta. I just realized that I still have 95 invites left over from alpha!

I'll ask Mark what they are. :coo3l:
I didn't read anything but the first page, but I have been having this issue also on many different computers using chrome.
Firefox is win.
Chrome is fail.
I think I see the problem.
Never had a browser error, Firefox baby!
When firefox crashes, the whole app crashes. Unlike chrome, where just the tab's exe crashes. Then all you have to do is refresh without relaunching the browser - awesome program design.
I love firefox though, been using it ever since the early days back when IE6 was king. When chrome came out I didn't switch until they sorted out extensions, now the adblock chrome extension is as good if not better than adblock plus.
Chrome is amazing though due to its simplicity. More is less. Simple and functional UI. Google somehow has managed to make a browser that is better than all the others in a very short amount of time. Kind of like when gmail rolled out it was far better than any other webmail out there.
Anyways, since switching from chrome stable (ver 10) to chrome dev (ver 11), I've noticed the program is faster. The time it takes to launch the app is faster, as is opening/closing tabs. I'm using the mac version, but this probably holds true for the linux and windows versions as well. I can't imagine how refined this browser will get in 5 years.
Don't forget about the security flaws in Firefox =)
Ive been having this happen. I thought it was just me...
I get this error from time to time in Chrome 10 too, but for those that are not aware: Firefox just put up the public release of v4.0 (download here). So far I've been hearing good things, and I usually keep both browsers on hand for errors like these.
It's been happening to me too from the past couple days. Alan sounds like he knows what to do to fix it though.
Good to hear Chrome is getting caught up with the add-ons. My biggest peeve is as a web developer it does annoying crap where it doesn't act like FF or IE and some of the free javascript libraries don't work right with it, so it adds a third layer of testing to messing with 2 browsers that act differently and have different standards compliance and proprietary extensions.
Over 5 years of use and never had firefox crash - unless I hit an infinite loop in my own development tests. There's some kind of tab recovery thing that re-opens whatever URLs were opened when you restart firefox - it's done that when I left FF open and my machine would auto-reboot at night when it installed updates. Not as elegant as restarting just the tab, but it's there at least.
I love my gmail too - been on there since closed beta about 6 years ago.
happens to me as well.
chrome ftw, firefox is a memory hog and slows my pc down.
ff4 > everything else. my only complaint about it is that after a several days of never closing all the browser windows, it starts to get a smidgen of slowdown. every other browser has the exact same problem.
