The New Car (Not a 3s either) :(

Well guys, as you knew I did sell my SL about two weeks ago and have since driven to Kentucky from Michigan to pick up a 05' Grand Prix GXP, Needed something more dependable with my college income  I really love "Black Betty" but she went to a good home.

The GXP:

Has a 5.3 Liter LS4 V8, Producing 303HP and 323Ft. Tq
Paddle Shiters
Heads Up Display,
Cross Drilled Rotors,
Displacement on Demand (Thank God!)
Leather Seats with Suede Inserts.
And well just everything.

All the being stock....

Just figured I would let you guys know what I got into, I know its not a 3s. And I really really miss her but I will be into one again as soon as I can financially do it.

I wish I could afford a car like that on a "college income" I can't even afford a 95 Grand Prix on my full time income.

I got the car for a steal.

I sold my 3k for $4700

I bought this for $6000 ...I know , it was a steal, I had to replace a idler pulley and its been great since.

I took out a loan for the difference and the gas.

Those are sweet cars. Hows the performance?

They are very nice, As far as performance. Its just ridiculous, in a good way! Insanely fast. Obviously it has more power than my SL had but It just feels like way more. Most likely because the power is available at a low rpm compared to the 3k. The paddle shifters work great, Will not shift until you tell it to and it is incredibly quick when you decide it's time.

And believe it or not, torque steer is not a problem. You need both hands on the wheel but nothing that gets out of hand. The car actually came from the factory with 255/50?/zr18's and 225's out back. Just to help with grip.

Are those FWD like the Bonneville's?

Yea, they are. And like I said , Very little torque steer.

Congrats on the newer ride! That's definitely a steal for that price.

wow, thats a lot of power for a fwd

My one buggaboo with the GXP, it's got a V8 and it runs 13's out of the box. If it weren't so damn heavy and fwd it would probably be in the 12's stock. :(

awww, no more 3s :(

I see you sold your vr4. Dammit, I loved that car lol. Your new car is nice!

automagic transmissions do wonders for reducing torque steer. I've never figured it out, but if you notice, factory stock ~300hp+ cars all tend to be auto, without an option for a stick.

Had a friend with a GXP - she loved it. Fun cars. For a daily beater something like that is great.

I've got around $1000 a month in bills. I bring home about 1280 a month when I work no overtime. Math doesn't work out all that well.

Yeah, math is no fun when it has to do with money :(

True. I am BROKE now that I bought this car. No mods at all for a while. I would not go insane. Just a K&N and things like that. Doc, did you change your post lol, My email says a total different thing than what it says now. haha

Yeah, I was just sort of rambling, so I ninja edited it. Until I get a second job, or start working more hours where I am, I have no mod money either. I can't even throw on an intake, lol.

wait.. let me get this right... you have an LS4 V8 powered FWD????? WTF!!!!! that's just stoooopid. Must understeer like a bitch. But i'm sure it's fun none the less.

Looks like a nice car. Yet I never understood why people like Grand Prix. My friend just got a GTP and has a loan on it. Hes 18. I think thats just a bad idea. He also thinks its the coolest shit in the world. And doesnt have his licence and drives places besides work and home with his occupational. And speeds and drives like a jackass. I dont know how he hasnt gotten pulled over yet.

I guess Im not a Pontiac fan in anyway shape or form. Discluding pre-70's. And I guess TA's up till 1980...

I have never seen a stock GXP run 13's, ever. Looked online, couldn't find one review that said 13 either. Everything was low to mid 14's.

I saw a GXP the other day that looked exactly like yours, down to every little detail, haha.
