Here's What It's Like To Own A Crazy Rare Mitsubishi 3000GT
Just sold that guy my Tein coil overs. Pretty cool! He has neat articles
From the phone.
Was a pretty good read, can't say I agree with the whole wardrobe malfunction statement though.
I like the article, but I've rode in a lot of "luxury" cars and I really don't see how our interior always seems to be a joke to people? Get in a 99 vette, camaro, mustang, etc. Tell me our interior isn't badass compared to that.
I can no longer see any comments on that, not even my own posts.
"The 3000GT is the nip-slip of the car world." :lmao:
Did you have comments that you had but can not see? or are mine gone from your view as well?
ugh...he bought it from IL?? What a disgrace...shame on me..wonder how many miles it has..
My friend posted this on my facebook yesterday. I personally would never own a 99 vr4. Seems like all of them have the electric sunroofs which really eats away head room. Not to mention I think the older digital climate control looks cooler than the 99 display. Best 3s IMO is a 94-95 (no ODBII crap) with giant glass sunroof and 99 conversion:)
Say it ain't so!
Not a fan of the 99 front, though would not mind it if a true 99. Not a fan of the headroom loss with the sunroof either. Split on the 97/98 bumper and the 94-96. I like them both.
Dead on with the 2nd gen RT tails, win.
Oh, and 1st gen GT side skirts ftw
I love the comments, I love how polarizing our platform is.
:barfaway:
That said, I've had almost every body part outside of 2g Stealth parts..but using that as a basis, I'd wager that the 97 front, 1g TT side skirts (debadged) and 2g RT rear would be pretty sweet with an AA spoiler.
That said, I went all 2g 3k with the 97 bumper and hoop...Cause I'm sucker for the big DSM look :suspect: And also because nobody suspects that actually having power and I like being stealthy.
It is one of my favorite things about the platform..A variety of polarization within the community...Until an outsider talks shit and then everybody rallies around the 3S. Well..that, and them tig ol bitties under the hood :D
Don't worry...They'll grow one day..The more you play with them, the bigger they get.
95 VR4 with partial 99 conversion master race checking in...
You can't be stealthy, I'm stealthee.
And 1G rt skirts and caps ftw. I keep on kicking back and forth on going with a RT rear, (you know if I ever work on my car again. I do still own it, I promise) but don't know if I want to deal with the extra hassle, or if I want to give up the JDM tails.
I thought we all agreed (or at least MOST of us agreed) that the 1g r/t sides were off-putting, because the lower edge of the "vent" isn't parallel to the skirt. Plus, I'd have NO IDEA how to put a matching piece in the front bumper's sides. The "mini vent" on the front bumper is one thing the 1g 3k did very, very right.
Not saying that the TT side skirts don't need tweaking, but how badly the vent not being parallel would should up is also a product of what color you have. With black (like I have), doesn't make a huge difference so it works. That said, yes I would love for the vents on them to basically be upside down so that the flat/parallel side would be on the bottom. To put a nearly matching mini vent would probably require something like a NACA duct. Wonder if the SMIC vent next to the fog light could be covered with fiberglass and then a NACA duct installed on the side that would reach it.
They're really not bad. I do think the 2g 3k sides "flow" better with the body though.
91 > 97 > 99 > 94 But the hoop is shit if you ask me. Combat wing only looks good on the 99 shape. All other models look best with the AA wing.
Combat wing looks pretty good on a stock 1g 3k. Better, imho, than on the 99.
I loved the article and vast majority of the comments. It's refreshing to see people appreciate these cars. Thanks for sharing. Did anyone in the comments ask which comparable cars have better interiors? I think it's tough to top.
