I'd be curious to hear other's thoughts on this. With last message being "All right, good night", the communications being manually shut down, and the fact it strategically flew around radar at heights of 45,000 feet, I think there may be foul play. A 777 doesn't just disappear without a trace. Could it have been stolen?
There are so many different theories out there. I have no idea what to think.
Wait, this plane still hasn't been found? I haven't been watching/reading the news.
25 nations looking for it and not a trace. The possibility of the jet being stolen and/or the pilots being corrupt is under question now. Like I said, with them manually cutting all communications and going around radar just screams foul play. What's even more scary is that if they did steal it, what the hell did they do with the 240 people on board?Quote:

I think it was pilot suicide, but he wanted to get rid of all traces of a blackbox (make it so it couldn't be found) so they wouldn't suspect suicide, but some tragedy.
I think the plane is at the bottom of an ocean - somewhere. I believe if the plane had landed somewhere, at least one of the passengers would have made a call even if a hijacker took everyone's mobile phone.

I think the pilots confronted the passengers and said hey we are going to part out this plane... we will split it 239 ways if you keep quiet.

Somewhat reminiscent of the Craig Button A-10 incident that happened back in 1997. It took 3 weeks to find that aircraft and it happened on American soil.

I'm still confused how they can say "We know the plane crashed here, but we don't know where it is". A tiny bit contradictory to me, like saying "I know you killed this guy, even though I don't know where the other guy is, where you were, or what you used to do it".
Sounds like they are just trying to give closure to the families. I doubt it crashed there, I haven't seen any strong evidence
One of the things I read is that in that area of the Indian Ocean it is as deep as 7,000 meters. That's around 23,000 feet deep.
that sounds right. In America, a PR department wouldn't let a company send out texts to families saying "we assume your loved ones are dead, sucks to be you". Really? A text message?
If someone told me a family member of mine is dead via text..........I swear.
I read an article stating that the company contacted the families by phone/in person and used the text messages just as another way to make sure they all got the message.

Last I seen the only thing found was an image. No debris has been verified yet, but I have not caught the latest today.

I think after the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2005, anything floating in the middle of the Indian ocean, and so far away from the expected flight area, needs to be checked out first hand before declairing it part of the plane.

Yes. Latest reports are they have detected the frequency of the black box. Fingers crossed....

Kind of hard to find, seeing as how it's not much bigger than a roll of quarters. Don't get your hopes up.
I was tracking the pulse they detected was that of the black box pulse frequency, 37.5 kHz. And it took them 2 years to find the black boxes for AF447, but they found them. Hopefully it doesn't take nearly that long in this case. The bathymetry of the search area doesn't look quite as bad as where AF447 went down either, which was right in the middle of the mid-Atlantic ridge.
UAB's only operate for so long. Also they had a good idea as to where AF447.Quote:
