A car's safety is extremely important in factoring the cost of insurance. If you're much more likely to end up with serious injuries that require medical care from a minor impact, the insurance company is taking on more liability and will charge you higher premiums.Quote:

It's about demographics in our case. Not about actual vehicle safety, or perceived lack of same.
As far as insurance companies are concerned, repair costs are not high, because they'll almost always total the car out for even minor damage rather than pay for the repairs.

The 3/s curse is that the car looks fast & most owners abused the snot out of it. Resale value went in the toilet due to repair costs...and the problem accelerated. Sad thing is, more people will cry over the last fox-body being sent to the crusher...than they will about the last 3/s.
