4-5 miles and it's the only major (chain) supermarket in this hicktown.
My wife and I go out of our way to drive to the next closest town 20 miles away just to shop at Publix. You can do some serious couponing there and the characters that show up at our local Wal-Mart are interesting to say the least.

That's funny. The apartment complex across the street from my house also has a trail that connects to Wal-Mart. Keeps my dogs barking constantly.

7 miles... the nearest actual grocery store is 25 miles (Kroger). And Publix is about 50+ miles :(

12 miles...I'm also quite positive that "The People of Wal-Mart" website was created after someone visited this one...It makes you feel like a sophisticated model every time you go in it 'cause people are very dumb up here & they aren't exactly the nicest looking group of people you've ever seen.

Funny how things work. I never shop at Wal Mart, but because of this thread, I checked how far away the nearest one was. There's one a little more than 3 miles from me, it's open 24hrs and it's a supercenter so it sells groceries. The actual supermarkets here all close at 11pm and don't open until 7am, and with my rotating schedule, those hours don't always work for me. Now I know I have an option when I need milk at midnight or some bagels at 6 am.
