As the title suggests I went, and dunn did it. My ASUS i5 is givin up the ghost. Simple youtube vids are taxing it for some reason, studder/studder, and thekeyboard is half retarded deciding when it wants to type, and what.
Ordered one deeznuts here https://us.msi.com/Notebook/GT72S-Do...-specification
For the monies it is the best of what I think I wanted, thoughts???:onthego:

G-Sync display... niceeee. Specs look good, no idea about reviews.
-
Most of the reviews are of the 2 year old model.
IF I get funky with the graphics, and decide I need more it can be swapped into this model easily (not so much for the wallet, but)

Sorry, but I don't believe in Gaming Laptops... They are always overpriced, Don't perform all that well with the hardware they try to cram into them due to cooling issues, they will always run hot when pushed and eventually things will go out on them. Laptop design is for production mobility not gaming. They will never live up to an actual gaming rig.

I kinda doubt that's why Bill bought it, lol

Awful fancy website they have... compensating for something?

Kind of overkill just to watch Porn on.... :p
Took a look and it seem almost any laptop with like an I7 *gen processor they consider a gaming laptop these days. So seems they turned it into a marketing label. But again the hardware used in most like an I7 chip or a 980 card are about useless. You'll never use them to optimal performance as they generate too much heat that a small laptop cannot cycle out. Most companies have them throttled now so that when they start to get hot it lowers the clock speeds, So what is the point. You get a burst of processing power and then throttled as soon as it starts to process and heats up. Max I would go in a laptop would be an I5 core and some mobility card like a 760. Cause lets face it, most only use their laptops for web which does not need a lot of processing or video power. Unless you are trying to stream Youtube on 4k there is no need for a 900 series card in a laptop not that a 900 series would handle 4K anyways.....

That laptop cost more than most of the cars I've bought.

Bill.
What are you doing with that old laptop that is dying? If you are going to toss it, I will throw some cash your way for it. Been looking for something to dick around with.
