I have a 93 Dodge Stealth TT, and I'm planning replacing my 5zigen SC3000 rims with these. Carid says only the 17s will fit. Will the 18x8 with the 5x114.3 bolt pattern fit? Anyone running these? I HAVE to replace them since the guy I bought the car from decided he was going to put bigger tires on the back than the front. On top of that, they're 19" with the wrong offset, and they scrub ALL THE TIME!

NO! please no! If you have different size rims, or even tires your VCU is trashed! Go to the previous owner that put bigger rims/tires on the back and thank him for ruining the transmission while repeatedly kicking him in the nuts.Quote:

18 inch rims are stock on TT cars. I'm not even sure 17" will fit on TT cars because of the brakes. When buying rims you have to make sure they clear the front brakes. Those rims should fit fine in 18". Some of the other members can tell you for sure.

Green Lantern I hope your wrong! I know there's a chance of ruining the transfer case but I didnt know about the VCU. My Front tires are 245/35zr19 93w xl. Back tires are 275/30ZR19 96w xl. How do I even know if my VCU is bad?
245/35/19 is 25.751" in diameter
275/30/19 is 25.496" in diameter
That is just under 1% of difference which should be within the abilities of the VCU to handle, however, my opinion would be to match all 4 tires.
Well lately I've noticed the car kind of lunges at high rpm. Almost like its struggling to catch traction. Could this be a symptom of a bad VCU or transfer case? Or could it be a boost leak?
I have 18s in front and 19s in back. It's tire height that matters. Rim size isn't the problem. Of course, I picked out tires that are less than 1% difference.Quote:
