OEM Keyless entry people
Is the car supposed to confirm the doors being locked and unlocked? I just programmed a remote for the first time and the doors lock/unlock, but the lights dont blink and there is no honk. Is that right, or is the car supposed to do something other than locking? (all cars nowerdays flash hazards or beep)
My car has a "3rd" horn by my power steering reseviour; I thought that was the wireless entry horn. But i guess not? Or something?
help maybe?

My 97 with factory alarm behaves just like yours. No honk or blink.

The horn by the Cruise control is only for the stock alarm. nothing more
-
when is the stock alarm supposed to go off?
-
Roll the window down. Lock the car and get out.
Reach inside the car and open the door without the key.
That should trigger the alarm.

Another way is unlock hatch with alarm set.

Well I guess my alarm isn't working properly or my '93 doesnt have it. (which would be weird because the alarm horn is present.)
I have never seen a green security light, and after the car is locked with the keyless entry, and then the trunk opened, no alarm goes off.
Where is the alarm ecu located so I can check to see if it is there?

The alarm is part of the ETACS. built into the car. All models have it. There is a delay of 15-20 seconds after the doors are locked before the alarm will trigger. Roll down windows, lock car, wait a min or two. Open door from inside. If the alarm does not go off best bet is that the door switch is bad.

i tried opening the trunk ~3 hours after i locked it (im at work)
not the door switch, the car won't lock with the keyless unless all doors are closed. (and it locks appropriately)
and i know my ETACS works because my lights dim correctly after the door has been closed.
interesting. I wonder if my car just doesnt have it.
