My LCD screen project, boost, WBO2, Knock, etc

One thing I thought I'd toss in for anyone installing one of these... I've seen them installed in a couple different positions. (and done it both ways myself)

You can set the screen a little lower, and not have to cut into the lens of the tach, but you do have to cut into the board and the corner of the cluster more, and the corner of the screen runs under the bezel.

Cutting into the tach lens and raising the screen up looks much more symmetrical, but the tradeoff is that the illumination of the tach scale is cut in half... It looks a little goofy at night with only the upper half of the numbers illuminated. If I were going to do another, I might consider taping or painting over the area completely so it's not illuminated at all...

Give me a bit, and I can probably produce something... It is dark out now, I should be able to get a decent shot of the illumination.

I put a piece of black tape over the "1000r/min" or use a sharpie on the letters. Looks like you might have a bulb or two out though. I guess I can run take a pick of mine.

Then you obviously addressed the issue already... That's why I posted it. I didn't see anyone else posting the issue, and some of us wouldn't catch it ahead of time... :D

No bulbs out on that gauge, just a crappy pic. There is one out for the fuel gauge, which will probably end up being an excuse to pull it back apart and paint over that area...

I wonder if this could be made to work with a DSM ecu?

I should have put that in my how to thread. I mentioned it before in this thread but it's way back who knows where. I would probably use the black tape instead of the sharpie. I think James shimmed it out a little and put a piece of clear plastic in right there so it still lit up.
