I have the same harbor freight 20 ton press. It worked well for doing my rx7 bushings. I think some of the side holes too are slightly off. So when you slide the stopper bar in it's kind of at an angle and not completely parallel. It's worth the money and I'm sure it will work for everything I'll ever need to do, but at the same time I kind of wish I would have bought a better one just because. My gf's dad has an older sunex one that is much more rigid.

I have pressed off a t- case spool with it and the stock plates, but i stood off to the side and wore a full face helmet, lol.
I am planning on getting some larger steel plates. There are a lot on ebay, but if you find a good metal supplier they can cut whatever you want. I would do at least 1 inch thick and probably a little bigger than the stock ones. Maybe 10" by 10".
You will have to modify the press to work on some transmission parts, but I can show you how.

I work in a manufacturing plant :) I already got some of the stock they have in the back for it. Will work great. Bout 2" x 2" chunks of hardened steel
Have a visitor this weekend from GA3S, but probably won't be doing much car stuff.
Finishing up installing some brake upgrade for the Daytona, and probably vacuum out the interior of the new shell. I may try to run down to Ninja and bring up more of my parts that I've got down there. Really need to get off my ass and tear apart my two 6 speeds to rebuild and upgrade one, but just so little time to try to get this stuff done with being on the road all the time. Don't want to try to crate them up and ship them somewhere to get rebuilt either. Downsides of always being on the road really.
Been getting more and more calls from head hunters offering a decent pay bump above what I make now (20/hr base pay, 30/hr overtime, plus I get paid travel time) but would mean being on the road even more. Not sure it's worth it. Annual review coming up at work soon so going to demand a raise. I've literally trained 3 new guys making 25/hr, so not like they can say that I'm not worth it.

This stuff I had on order before I was looking for a new job. Don't have the amp hooked up yet, but I'm happy. No, it's not my 3/s. I don't do things to my 3/s anymore--apart from listing it for sale.

Pressed out bushings and ball joint off my LCAs then wire brushed, deburred, sanded and painted the components (and battery tray) to stop and protect from rust. Used black caliper paint because I think it should seal pretty well. No $ for pretty powdercoating. Ninja poly bushings going in soon then wrapping up the evo brembo swap. [emoji109]

Picked up my 3.7 shorty and headlift fix feed heads from Merkel today. Test fitted my head studs. Does it matter if they bottom out in the block or not? Lots of thread engagement but the shank hits the block before the bottom of the stud does.
You do not want the stud bottoming out on the block in its final torqued position.
