Bought a minty fresh one owner, 21k mile, fiji blue vr4.
It does have a bit of wheel gap up front, but that will be taken car of once I put the engine back in.

I was actually at the guy's place in the middle of BFE looking at the cars with about 20 minutes left on the auction. I only had one bar of service to work with so I had to make it count. I put in a max of 6k, so I'm glad your last bid didn't go through, would have cost me even more! lol.Quote:

I got the stealth home over the weekend and started pulling it apart. I got it running, but it was leaking fuel out of the return line at the tank so I couldn't leave it running for long. Didn't sound like valves (as the ad stated) but I checked them out anyway. The heads looked fresh and have '99 lifters in them. Pulled a lifter out and there was a decent amount of trash in the bottom. Compression test was 150psi across the board. The oil pan was dented and leaking so I pulled it. Lots of glitter in the bottom of the pan. Did the wiggle test on the rod caps and found a loose one. "6 rod bearing halves decided to get kinky and hopped on top of each other.
So that engine is toast.
Not that I would swap a 141k engine into a 21k mile car, but it would have been nice to use as a core for rebuild. I might end up using the 2 bolt that I have in my white car. Just need to have the 3.5 rebuilt first.

Not everything today but disassembled my 74 shorty & basically new DR stage 3 heads. Already have a 75 crank. Just getting everything ready to ship to Ray, hopefully this week if I can find a crate. Put together a valve spring & retainer just because lol. Trying to at least get the long block assembled before the new year.
