What did you do today to your 3/S?

getting myself ready for BRG as well, serge. since my 91 TT is still in the shop (waiting on boostmore 15gs, so im ok with it) ill be taking the 93 3000gt this weekend . I took the TT last year so it will be cool to drive the other one.

it needed an alignment and the 12 year old tires were finally starting to wear out so went and got 2 new ones put on the front on tuesday and finished repainting/restoring the last rim on the car also. one of my front tires was going flat after a week and the other tires were fine but as always you never replace just 1 side you do both sides.

im hoping i win the cleanest stock 3/S award this year! 58k original miles and never modified minus switching my rear garnish for a GTO one instead

Been working through some other issues in prep for BRG.

I took the 20s off and put the 18s back on. The 20s rub and are stupid heavy, but they look good!

Changed the rear O2 sensor, it was getting lazy. Seems to be better now.

I've been trying to get the coolant temps down, but nothing seems to help. I know I need to add some ducting for the radiator. As a temporary attempt, I removed the thermostat. That did exactly nothing. Still running 220. I'm running Spal slim fans, going to try swapping in at least a stock fan or two tonight. The big fan doesn't fit with the front turbo wastegate solenoid where it is. If I can do two stock AC fans I bet it will cool better than the slim fans. It stays hot on the highway so that tells me I need ducting, I'll have to do that after BRG.

The AC hasn't worked for years since I took it apart. I put a new dryer in it and vac'd it down and added a couple cans. Had to do some Idle adjustments with Chrome, but it works now. Too bad I can't use it until I get the temps down.

Removing thermostat without blocking the recirc passage will actually make it worse. 2 stock small fans flow WAY more than any 2 slim fans that I've found yet.

Reinstalling my cruise control control wheel pulley,,, I did the delete mod,, my throttle cable was sticking every so often,, didn't like that. So back to stock

What recirc passage do you speak of?

Removing the T-stat seemed to do the trick. On the highway it stayed between 195 and 200. On the steep uphill grades in the mountains it got up to 220 again but down hill it would get down to 170/180.

I ordered some ducting from Pegasus to pull air from the side holes on the bumper to port over behind the FMIC.

As the thermostat warms up, that disk is pushed to cover the 1" hole in the back of the housing that bypasses coolant around the radiator to warm up the engine faster.

If you remove the thermostat, that hole is always open, and coolant is just circulated around the block and pump. The stock temp sender location may not read the higher temps circulating through the pump either.

This is my blockoff plate I made before installing a gutted thermostat with a rod to support the blockoff plate:

In my case this was required to get my coolant swirl pot to work correctly and stop air in the system from just circulating around the pump.

Banana spoiler and wiper delete! Plugged holes with plastic plugs, sealed with silicone and then plasti-dipped over top to hide the discolored trim. Looks great until I can afford body filler and paint.

Took 'er for an errand. After a clean 3rd gear pull at 1.5 bar on the way home, she had about 10 psi oil pressure at 750 rpm idle in the garage. Going back and forth on beginning to assemble my strokah.

Lcdbc reinstall. Now getting sensor scaling flashed so readings are accurate on both Lcdbc and evoscan.
