Retrofit is done for the headlights, and looks great..Trying to get them resealed now, this crap take forever to cure (1 week for full cure, like 8 hours for a decent partial cure.) Will try to get it all wrapped up tomorrow morning..The list of things I've done has been rather extensive and I'm looking forward to getting it all back together:
New ceramic coated exhaust with Jardine slip on (sounds much better than the low end Two Brothers that came on it but it is loud as hell), new Watsen Designs flush mounts painted to match the bike, the bixenon HID retrofit, EXUP deleted, cat deleted, intake flapper gutted, SAI deleted, new tank grips, new clip ons, new grips on the bars, new front brakes. Have flashed the ECU to remove the EXUP, flapper and SAI functions, but will be taking it to get it actually dyno tuned. Typical results for new slip on and all those deletes is about 5-6whp, which is rather significant on something that only weighs about 600 pounds with rider.
Looking forward to retrofitting new HID projectors into my BMW and maybe even into the VR4 as well. Thankfully since I work on CNCs for a living, shouldn't be too tough to cut a small bracket out of some thin gauge aluminum or HDPE to adapt and use the stock adjustments.

Some videos from the finished work of the bike over the weekend. I'll snap some good pictures of it once I get it all cleaned up and maybe get the garage cleaned out some.
I pulled the 3.5 out and put a 3.0 back in the 3000. Since doing the turbo conversion in 2010, this is the first actual "turbo engine" that I've put in it. It runs now but it seems like the tune is way off. I'm thinking about starting from scratch. I've just kept the same map modifying it with each change.
Probably a good idea to go back to scratch. What makes you say that the tune is way off though?
Fuel trims are way off. 130 low, 120 mid, 98 high. When taking off from a stop there is no power there unless I rev it a little. I've manually put it in time with the CAS, I guess I haven't really looked at the fuel pressure since I've had it running.
Never tuned before, learning as I go.
No 3s work, but I've been doing some work on a Nissan vq35 for another venture.
Previous owner abused the car and the bucket shims got smashed(making it tick like crazy.)
Two interesting things about the vq engine:
It uses a lifter and bucket shim setup which is very very good for high rpm fun.
The later vq"hr" has dlc(diamond like carbon) coated bucket shims, which is claimed to lower friction by 40%.
Destroyed lifters(the stem in the middle should be flat)

Stock vs dlc coated on the right.

I've been building my car a new home this summer. It's going to be so nice, but I'm going to be so broke.
