Hey! My name's Mirw. I'm new here, and to the stealth/3000gt community. I'm looking at buying a stealth because it seems like a really fun car to own, and drive! I came here for some advice, and with a few questions. I can't wait to join the club!
Thanks - great site...own a 91 r/t tt...
I am not sure I need to reply, but I keep getting messages that I am not allowed to view things.
Hey all, i'm Ahmet from the UK, my old man has had a '91 GTO since '06 and I figured it would be a good time to sign up here as there are a few questions we need answering!
I am PhunkyMonkey. I am not related to bodgemonkey above. You see, I am Canadian.
*edit* I have neglected to mention prior, wifey and I are looking to purchase a 1991 Stealth. Blue. Yeah, blue.
My previous experience with Dodge vehicles is limited to... Dodge Neons.
Hi, I'm IK3GT. I'm from Mexico. My love for the 3000GT goes ALL the way back to high school. I saw those beautiful things that asked for nothing to all those american muscle/pony cars that everyone loved in school (nothing against them, I just had different tastes). My first car was a 1997 Base Eagle Talon, which I loved but had to let it go in April this year.
Now that I finished my master degree, in June I bought a really beaten and all around neglected 1998 Base Mitsubishi 3000GT with a manual gearbox for about 1500 bucks, the car had some bumps, deteriorated interior, the rev gauge doesn't work and a f-d up gearbox. I had to do some surgery to the car by getting a gearbox that had the same code as the one in the car, but the original axles had a bigger diameter than the differential in the new gearbox. After 3 weeks of struggling with the guys who got it for me I offered them a deal of doing some "surgery". I told them if they let me open both gearboxes and find if the differential from one gearbox fits in the other one and let me do a "transplant", I would return the old gearbox with the diff replaced and not ask for my money back (note: it was an buy with exchange of parts). They agreed and it worked.
After weeks of feeling "buyer's guilt", I love my car now. I still need to do some repairs but the car is working well and I can't wait to restore it until it shines.
Edit: Also it has some "Sweet" but unfitting 20 inch chrome wheels. And I don't like them and they ruin the ride, so I'm looking some smaller ones to change them.

Looking to get back into a vr4 from SoCal
OK - got it now
Hello. Just bought a 95 3000gt in May. Already did a few mods such as coilovers, test pipe, and evo X wheels.
Hello. Bought a 98 SL and plan on buying a vr4
Hello, I am in the market for a VR4 92-98 only, black or black and blue interior only. Before I buy I am using this as one of many resources to learn as much as I can about the 3000gt so I know what I am working with when I make my purchase.
Is this where I learn how to change my oil? Lol
No but we will help you find your 710 cap.
I like the color here also. It's easy on the eyes and just cool looking. I own 1 of the 20, 1998 VR4 cars in New Zealand Pearl Green with Tan interior. The site shows only 4 identical like mine.:friendly_wink:
Welcome!!!
Too bad you couldn't come up with another screen name, without looking closely everyone will think you Paul (green-lantern)
Getting a 92 SL in a week! Trading my Celica for it. It only has 84k miles. I'm really excited.
Hi, looking to gather as much info as possible on the 3S platform so here I am. Just got the car up and running again after being down for a couple years. I look forward to seeing the forums.
Hi y'all
This is my second VR-4, first was '93 bought in '96 that was awesome and I loved it until 60k service and tyres were due, then got $6000 quote from dealer and in those days no one else in NC even knew what she was, let alone how to work on V6 TT, so she had to go....
Moved back to UK couple of years ago, boring Hyundai box to start, but just bought a '92 GTO import i.e. VR-4 Lady in Red which is awesome, and seriously quick just like I remember the last one. Or maybe that's altsheimers kicking in.
Anyway, lots of good stuff here, can't wait to have a good look around....and help some folks!!!
See you around!
Hi,
I am an owner of a red '95 VR4 for more than 5 years. Recently did a forged bottom end and 19T turbo upgrade. Time to turn up the boost ! :zoom:
Just picked up a 92 Stealth R/T na. So much great info on here!
I have a 94 fwd r/t tt that I'm trying to fix...basically a never-ending CEL project.
I own a 92 dodge stealth ES, rust free; 185,000 miles on car, 85,000 on the engine. Having a weird issue, looking for help.
I am buying a 94 Mitsubishi GTO vr4. It seems to have been altered since the steering wheel is on the left instead of right. Will that affect me altering the parts in anyway or engine swapping? Im completely new to this and my goal is to get this girl to at least 500- 600HP. I would like to know the most effective way to achieve this without wasting money on unnecessary parts. Keep in mind i dont want this car to blow up on its first race so if i need to upgrade parts to ensure bigger turbos etc can be handled then inform me please. I have about 10-12k to invest into it of course if i can spend less thats better. Parts list would be appreciated. Looking forward to your help guys :) P.S. Im also open to ideas of complete engine swap to bigger engines for more horsepower if it can fit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a 1992 stealth RT TT with a 2nd gen 4-bolt with lots of mods. I purchased it off a 3si.org member about 18 months ago, where I'm a member. I drove a 1992 RT(slow) for 10 years before that . I love these cars and will be driving them for life.
To be continued...........
thanks
Where do you live? As for your goals Ray P. has an excellent formula that yourbudget will cover easily. Tha will also be dependent on ifyou do the work, your location, and if parts needs to be shipped to EU or not.
Hangout, search, read, and see what others have done. Take it slow, and do all your maintenance before modding. That alone could run you a couple k depending on the condition of the car.
Start a thread for any questions you run into.
Welcome!

There are many peeps in your area to get info from as well. This guy http://www.3sgto.org/members/nomiezvr4.html, and the group. http://www.3sgto.org/groups/chicago-3s.html
Just looking for some insight and experience so I don't have to make the same mistakes others undoubtedly have when bringing a VR4 back to life.
