So last night I managed to get my new ps pump in and buttoned up. I ran to grab some more ps fluid and while I was out a buddy of mine figured it was a good idea to start the car. This was before I bled the system. Anyway, the car ran for about 5 minutes and after trying to bleed the air out I still had no ps. Did we ruin the pump or is there something I'm missing. How does the 4ws affect this? Maybe I should flush the system and try it again, this time without starting the damn car first lol any ideas are appreciated.

Work the wheel all the way back and forth ~40 times with the car off, then do the same with the car on but the front wheels in the air. Then you should be ok, but since it was started before bleeding it may take a long time for air to work its way out of the system completely.Quote:

I'll give it a try again tonight. I tried for a little bit last night but you guys are probably right, it's going to take a while to get all the air out

Update: after about two hours of back and forth with the steering wheel (with the car off and then on) I set the car down but still no ps. I've had a ton of bubbles come up the reservoir and even then my wheel never felt jerky when the tires were off the ground. It's smooth when I move it back and forth in the air. My old pump had the flow control valve broken off. I got a new pump and then transferred the valve from another pump on to my new pump. I put it back together exactly as I took it apart. Could my problem be there? Maybe I ruined the new pump lol what do you guys think? I appreciate the help!

Built another set of 4gswap mounts.
Got the front bellhousing part of the transmission tunnel done. It was a pita! I was really trying to tuck it in close to the transmission and not take up a whole lot of space. It would have been a lot simpler to make a straight forward larger part but i don't like making my life easy. As a side note, the rubberized red paint on the floor is soo annoying! Wire wheel eventually got it clean but now the car has rubber everywhere. Some spots weren't clean enough so welding got a little fugly but it'll be covered up so all is well lol.
Here it is during the fabrication part. Just resting on the roll of tape but it gives you the general idea of what was made.
