My LCD screen project, boost, WBO2, Knock, etc

I will be in the market when I get to the electronic part of my build. Right now I am still at the mechanical stage.

There are two users out there that have noise on their OBD communication line -- this noise can create an incorrect knock reading. So yeah, it doesn't alert until two readings have exceeded their threshold within a certain time frame. Nobody wants a knock alert if there isn't one. :)

Also, I'm waiting on feedback from Jesters Deadd to see how the noise-filtered OBD2/MUT cables are working out for him. Hopefully this will solve their problems.

Nice install! The big memory micro allows you to flash/update from the external serial cable (that's meant for datalogging on the PC) whereas the little mem micro does not. If you make a mistake flashing the wrong version, there's no harm. You can still reflash again, just find the correct flash.

For OBD1/OBD2/MUT LCDBC versions:
The latest 20mhz micro is 2.5 times faster than the previous version (8mhz). I'd suggest upgrading because the cost is affordable ($20 shipped) and all the new development will be with firmware 3.xx.

I'm just wondering, how many of these have you already sold?

Antero, can you tell easily what I've got?

I haven't had it in the car yet (the box proper) and likely won't until spring, so if I need the upgrade, I might as well see if I can manage it. :)

When you say "before they are all gone". Does this mean I may not be able to get one from you when the time comes?

I've flirted with the idea of making it partially open source. This way the user can make custom menus for themselves.

The new 20mhz micros only came available last week. Most of the users here have the 8mhz processor.

The 3S community is small, so when the last remaining units are sold off I don't know if it economical to produce more. Some suppliers forced me to purchase a minimum of 100 units, so that's where that figure came from.

My OBDI car needs the love.

So, since mine isn't installed, would I be better off sending mine back to you to put in the new processors or is shipping bad enough that I would be better off trying to put it in myself?
