Official 2014 NFL Discussion Thread

Nagh, not hung up on the why as I could not car less. I do however think that no matter the outcome if they broke the rules, they should pay the piper. The same goes for the rest of the league including the chickens. There are rules, and consequenses. If the NFL chooses the $ over the integrity of the game, it will only solidify the reason I do not bother with watching anything other than home team/playoffs. I was that guy 10 years ago. Every game every week every year. The time taken, and stupid ass rule changes spoiled my hobby.

Its called 1st half vs 2nd half. The balls were deflated in the 1st half, Brady put up 14 points, the 2nd half the balls were up to regulation inflation, Brady put up 28 points. There is your data.

I know many of you just flat out hate the Pats and will run with anything, ANYTHING at all that makes them look bad. But using deflated balls as some sort of major advantage? I think the haters found a new pathetic low. If using deflated balls made the Patriots better, it only speaks to just how good Brady is as it is a fact it makes the ball fly with less velocity and makes it more difficult to throw a tight spiral.
I am done with deflate-gate, we are on to Seattle. You haters can now circle jerk about how the
Patriots cheat, with nothing to go on, enjoy.

I think we really don't care about deflated footballs and if they benefited from it or not, it's the fact that it's another accusation against the Pats for cheating. It doesn't matter what the cheat is, it's a cheat, it's against the rules and the Pats think the rules don't apply to them. Now that they've found the person responsible for deflating the balls, it's only a matter of time before before he admits it was Belicheat, or Brady who told him to do it. Then who's going to have to apologize?? Kraft made things worse for the Pats by making that statement. The league will come down harder now because of their arrogance.
I was on the fence in this game because I dislike both teams, but now I think I'll be rooting for Seattle to thrash the Pats so Brady becomes no more than a .500 SuperBowl QB and the Pats drop to 3-5 in SuperBowls.

i think pretty much anyone outside NE realizes that ball pressure alone isn't going to make the colts win--but that's also besides the point. What IS the point is that this is just another in a long line of things the patriots does to try and get away with breaking the rules. And I contend that the worst is probably yet to come--because eventually (maybe 20 years from now, who knows) the truth will come out. And there will be a SHITSTORM media circus about all the newly-leaked "secrets"; all of the ways the patriots bent/broke the rules every chance they got.

P.S.
For the record, the patriots were NOT punished for spygate. Spygate's punishment is the equivalent of docking someone on minimum wage 1 hour of pay. There is ZERO fallout from that--only a tongue-in-cheek understanding that the next time they'd better cheat better.
