Installed SCE oil pan..... One of the last pieces to the puzzle.
Pulled the Skillard splitter and put the factory active aero tray back in, looks better now IMHO. Operation Less Rice = complete. I didn't like the attitude of the splitter and visible hardware = rice. Still need to paint the hardware I used, but I have grown to appreciate the factory appearance more than I once did.

I would not call the splitter rice at all. That being said, I think it would look much better if painted black.
Too bad that splitter isn't for a 99 or I would take it off your hands.
Went to ZDaysZ with Snook (wearing our BRG shirts of course because HYPE) Saturday. Spent a bit of time today working on my poly rear subframe bushings, and he did some body work to the bay to smooth it a bit more. Things started to go downhill right around the time we ran out of Mike's lemonades and started in on the tequila...Odd right? I blame the weather personally :suspect:
I can safely say that while I will use the rest of the poly I have on these rear subframe bushings, I will likely never make it this way again. Just not worth it, very time consuming.
We also reinstalled the hood properly (ie. bolted down) where I could now see that my evil eye needs banged up a touch on the passenger side. As it sits, it interferes with the headlight and won't close properly. Would be worried about cracking the glass ones. Glad I have crappy lexan ones to test fit this stuff with at least. New wiring harness is on it's way as well. Need to tear apart the steering rack tomorrow perhaps to delete it so I can reinstall it on the crossmember and put them back in.
For the evil eye, I noticed on mine the edge was starting to scratch the glass some. i was also afraid about it smacking the glass lens each time I shut the hood. I wen to a craft store and got a sheet of that felt that is sticky on the back. cut a strip and ran it under the evil eye portion so that the felt touches the glass and not the metal. It works great and even the adhesive had not come free at all. It does bring the evil eye lip off the glass about 1-2mm but not really even noticeable and is a great way to protect the glass and ensure the paint will not rub off the evil eye from it rubbing the glass. I think everyone who has evil eye mod should have this same thing.
Good tip. I had planned on using some the felt stuff you can put on the bottom of chair legs to prevent scratching the floor. I'll post up how it turns out.Quote:
