What did you do today to your 3/S?

While waiting on the machine shop to finish cleaning my block and checking out the crank, I have my heads torn down and cleaned and will be reinstalling the valve train this weekend. When I first disassembled everything I had all the valves marked so I knew what valve went to what guide. I decided to throw all the valves in the bucket of chem dip (after a long day) to clean then and so they are no longer organized. Will I be ok just lapping the valves, or will I need to send them to the machine shop since the valves will no longer match with the original guides and seats?

Ugh..working on heads last night. Realized that the machine shop that cleaned them removed a few plugs and never reinstalled them.

It was yesterday but I finally installed the solid shifter bushings, both the base and cable ends. only problem is that 1st gear is not stiff. its smooth, no notchiness or "walls" just kind of...gummy. I think the cable end bushing might be binding slightly when going into first as it will have the most angle from the cable mounting bracket on the trans.

Check the valve guide play and lap the valves to the seats.

What goes with that? A Red or White wine? Or is it Bells?

Sorry. 99 just makes more horizontal lines on the back of a stealth. And the angles just don't flow with the curvy lines of the stealth either. I don't even like wingless....but a wingless stealth > stealth with 99 wing.

Pretty annoyed with my exhaust valves. I spent $100 on a 5 gallon bucket of berryman chem dip and it worked well on my heads, let them sit overnight and come back and rinse with water and it took care of almost all of the carbon buildup in the exhaust ports and combustion chamber with just some rags. I have let the valves sit for a week and the carbon on them is still no softer than before. Anyone have tips on cleaning those guys? I may just scrape them the best I can and just lap them all and throw everything back together. I mean I'm sure I will have this engine apart again sometime in the (hopefully not too near) future.

I will be putting my rear subframe back in tomorrow after I get my package from cherry hill at the post office. I tried installing the subframe a couple months ago and actually broke the two front mount bolts/plates. I got a pair of used bolts and got new nuts for all 4 corner, the two front triangular plate bolts and the rear bolts that are in the body. The part numbers are different for the front and rear mount nuts and my main concern was did I use the wrong bolts last time I tried to install and that caused the bolt to break? The original mount bolt and nut were kinda rusty so I though it just broke from over torquing but I just don't want to have the same thing happen. The part numbers for the bolts are listed on the invoice as MF445244 'NUT, FR SUSP L' & MB573244 'NUT, LOCKIN'. Anyone able to tell me what part number goes where?

Wired the audio system back up, put the fuel pump Hotwire back in, and installed the replacement biss screw. Everything is running great! Last night my gauge indicated 596bhp which looks like it is right around the same power before the tear down. Time for the retune and continue with raising the boost!

Also decided to start working on reducing some cabin noise. Put in some Home Depot weather stripping to see if the original seals were still good.

Made a pretty noticeable difference so will definitely need to get new seals. Will need to figure out how to deaden the road noise in the rear as well.

Also finally got to enjoy cruising around for a few hours in the rain.
