What did you do today to your 3/S?

Spent some time cleaning up the remaining loose components that need coating and put a couple coats on a single side. Hopefully the rain holds off and I can get back out there and coat the other sides of these things (rear subframe, rear diff, crossmembers from engine bay, steering knuckles) Pretty much down to the engine bay and underside of the car. Have pretty much everything removed from the engine bay, working on getting the harness out so that I can go through it and redo it. Probably going to just redo the engine bay harness, but may do the body harness if I have the time and money this winter. With the removal of the ECS, ABS and AWS, there's quite a few wires that can be removed on top of all the repairs I have to do anyhow.

Still sick so didn't want to get too crazy today trying to sand off the old paint in the engine bay or under the car (since I have no way to move a ton of air out of the garage and obviously can't do it in the driveway like I did with the individual components.) Put a second layer of coating on the parts and let them hang out and dry up pretty good before bringing them in. Going to let them cure for the couple of days probably before I go back and sand them for a better finish and top coat. Going to try to set up a way to do it in the garage where I can do both sides at once.

Trying to figure out how to disassemble this fuse box to pull the wiring harness out of the engine bay and move the box into the passenger air bag area of the 2g dash (since I don't have a 2G airbag there.) Could just hack the wires off since I'm making a fresh harness, but at that point, wouldn't it make more sense to just get a new universal fuse box to work from and try to keep this one as intact as possible? Pulling my dash back out yesterday and poking through there today to drop the brake booster, found a couple of straight up broken wires in the harness for the interior. Going to have to look at wiring diagrams and chase wires to figure out what they go to. If I get lucky, may find what is responsible for losing accessories and such every little bump on the road without having to make a whole new harness. Either way, making a new harness for the engine bay to tuck the wires and clean up. Once I finalize stuff in the bay, likely next winter I will get some custom sheet metal made up to cover up areas in the bay and clean it. This go around, I'm just going to fill holes in with metal filler and bondo work. As of right now, battery relocate, front washer delete and switch to the 99 coolant reservoir are in the works. Not sure what else I really want to get rid of this go around. I'd like to keep the AC and cruise control, so I may just try disassembling the harness for the AC fuse box and stuff to mount it in the fender well area or something and get it out of sight. Already planning a switch to NA PS reservoir for now, eventually I'd like to convert to AN lines and fittings for the PS system, but I doubt I'll get that far this go around financially speaking.

Budget BBK project is on hold for now, as is research into a COP arrangement. BBK because while initial cost for research wouldn't be too brutal (I could get in the calipers and rotors at Autozone, mock them up and measure, then take them back to Autozone) getting farther would be crazy without more money coming in. That may be a summer project. The COP ideas I had floating around are going to have to wait, thinking sequential ignition pencil coils with a DLI. Hopefully be low profile enough to hide under covers, with less stuff showing in the bay.

drove it to work today and making a left turn the walbro 416 starts making an intermittent demonic squealing noise... guess I'll pull it out today and hope it just slipped in the hanger. It comes and goes and also goes away the more throttle you give it.

I have only seen this on ONE other car - although the yellow is rather fetching, i prefer the black! His does look shiny tho?

Things on the agenda now -

Fit the DLI and hotwire the coils
Get it running spot on at WG pressure (14.7psi) and then see where we can take it
Give Water / Meth a go in the new year for "the hell of it"
... and pickup the pieces when it blows up - then make it stronger :)

Aaahhhh yes, my lifes quest...

Nothing for me today. However this weekend I will be changing out the radiator, hoses, and thermostat. Also will had to the paint shop sometime this week to mix colors.

Econ final tomorrow. History on Thurs then done till Jan 7th. Can't wait. Much car stuff to do.

Couple quick questions: what type of crimper for pins? Molex?

Secondly, any engineering/brake experts I'll be able to send messages to in a couple weeks? Have a plan coming down the pipe that may need some mathematical double checking.

So how are you pulling in fresh air and what is generating vacuum for the system?

Unfortunately that's not my car :) Was the only other photo that i have seen of the ARC plug cover - it is owned by someone who used to be well known in the UK , as far as i know its currently sitting covered up and not doing a lot, hasnt been driven in years

I'll try and pull up some more photos of his car if I can find them. I currently do not run a catch can at all and the PCVs are standard mitsubishi
