Playoff seeding would've been what, Florida St v Mich St and Auburn v Bama again wouldn't it?
Florida State versus Michigan State would've been a helluva game I bet.

Apology accepted. :D
I don't want to hear any excuses. Alabama straight got their asses whipped. Why? Because they tried to be something they're not. The run game was working. OU had exactly NO answer for Henry. So, naturally, let's start trying to bomb the ball deep. Saban is an egotistical fuck, and it got the best of him. No hangover, no uninspired, they got beat by a fast team that executed perfectly. Hell, Bama was holding, egregiously at that, all night, and could not stop the speedy rush of OU. That recipe has been known for a long time. Which is precisely why Saban made that stupid pitch of wanting the game to be slowed down. Line up and play smash mouth, traditional football against Bama, you're gonna get beat. A disguised, speedy, defense can stop them. And an offense filled with small, shifty skill guys is more than the massive Bama defenders can handle. Welcome to the modern era of football.
I will agree that McCarron looked scared shitless after he took those late sacks. He literally stopped looking down field, due to being terrified of the rush.
In any event, I love it. Couldn't have happened to a better team. :)

it was a win win for me. Bama wins and the confrence looks good. Bama loses and I get to watch Saban fume. to bad I fell asleep before the end.
What was most intriguing to me is that OU's offensive game plan was a carbon copy of what Auburn did to beat Alabama. High tempo, jet sweeps, pressing the perimeter. Bama's D was exposed by Auburn and OU simply modified the play calling to fit their more balanced scheme.
^You got it! :)

Nothing at all against 'Bama, but I sincerely LOVE seeing Saban take it up the ass, that swell-head mofo. :D
that's right and that's exactaly what Bobo would not do. "oh that works?! we better not do it. they might catch on.". the difference between a good coordinator and a bad one is the ability and willingness to adapt to the opponent.
lets not forget that OU's defense wasn't all that great in that game. AJ doesn't bonehead his way into a pair of int's and the tackle doesn't pop the ball out of his own RB's hands and we have a completely different game. hell even with those major misques they still put up 31pts. their line had a great pass rush but the secondary was garbage and Bama could have ran on them all day.
Saban continued to outcoach himself all game as well. Taking out his 2nd string RB who obviously had a hot hand just to put Yeldon back in the game to keep RBs fresh was just stupid. This isn't the NFL - backs can tote the rock 30+ times every few games for goodness sake. Just ask Tre Mason.
he was fuming all right, it was like watching a baby get his candy stolen every second the clock ticked off.
Every timeout he was like "I want my 2 seconds!!!"... it was pretty funny. It wasn't classic Brian Kelley cursing and spitting at his players funny... I like watching Steve Spurrier lose also but Saban takes the cake lately.
