Hello all 1992 3000gt vr4 bought from an old member on this forum love the ride so far
How you all doing? My name is Aedan, I have been a Mitsubishi enthusiast for about 13 years now, have owned nothing but mitsubishi/chrysler products. I have just moved into the 3000gt chassis coming from dsm and 4g63 projects that I have made. I have had a few 9-10 second talons and eclipses. Looking currently for some important parts for my car.
I became a 3S enthusiast when I bought my first Dodge Stealth in 2002.
Blue 1995 Stealth TT
Blue 1995 3000GT VR4
Black 1996 3000GT VR4
White 1995 3000GT VR4
Four cars later I have the vehicle I always wanted.
Over this time I've learned a lot about these vehicles and I continue to learn and enjoy.
Hello everyone. Making the jump from 3si!

Hello,
My name is Richard AKA AlbeUrDemise. I recently bought a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL 5spd. All Stock. I've had it about two weeks now and I love it. I recently had an eclipse and although I like the style of the car, I hated it's lack of power even with a turbo upgrade. So I realized it just wasn't for me. My friend GoodWrench3000 has had a 3000GT for years and it's always been his dream car. So he talked me into getting into one. So far I am very satisfied and can't wait to get it modified. Anyway that's enough rant for now. Time to get to work.
1. modified < reliable. get it up to spec before you start messing around with it--or you now have a 3200lbs gift for a junkyard.
2. if you didn't like the power levels of a turbocharged eclipse, you're going to hate n/a 3/s. my advice is to sell it now and buy a vr4.
new user, thought i'd say hello
Testing.
I enjoyed this video. Very classy lol
I have a 95 3000 SL that I just finished painting back to original R71 color. I did this in my homemade bisqayne paint booth held together by poles and 3m adhesive spray. I am still wet sanding the clear when I get time.
I am 59 yoa and I love to drive this car. I am thinking of adding a aftermarket turbo.
The reason I joined the forum is to seek assistance with the power door locks. They quit, but the fuses are good...
Thanks,
Randy
Already plan for weight reduction and a TT setup and already have steal on a TT system out of a VR4 with ECU Etc... For $350 Locally.
PS. The power of the Turbo Eclipse was fine for that car but It just wasn't worth it considering how much $$$ it took to get it on that lvl. Hence why I hated the Money Pitt! At least 3K hold some value still because of rarity.
now you've lost me. DSM's are dirt cheap to mod. tons of people are upgrading all the time, and the parts from their previous setups are always going for discounts. a 16g dsm shouldn't be breaking the bank at all--and if it is, you really don't want to own a 3/s.
p.s.
3/s's don't have any "rarity" factor helping resale value. you should shop around more.
Hello .. New to the site and car .. Growing up my moms friend purchased a 92 red stealth and I always wanted one .. I been in mustangs the last 17 years right down to my 2012 gt which I loved and have built many from the ground up ... Then traded for a 2012 f150 cause I needed something for my first born .... Well now I'm wanting a Awd sports car and a GTR is out my budget lol ... So now to my childhood car .. I am looking for a good black 1993 stealth TT.... I just don't want the first year or two bugs so I'm starting there. I like the flip up lights too ...
Couple questions . I do plan to mod it and get around 500whp ..
I see people say swap out lifters and such for reliability .. I'm just looking for a direction and learn the car and the parts .. Thanks in advance for the help too ..
I also not sure if there is a 5sp or 6sp manual ?? I thought all were 6sp manuals..
What can the factory drive train and motor handle safely ?
Welcome to the community man. You might find some better responses by starting a fresh thread (or searching), but to give you a few quick answers:
The problem you've probably heard about the lifters on our car is that they're known to tick (known, suitably, as 'lifter tick'). It's not that they're unreliable, just that they can be loud. Many people opt for replacement 1999 (3rd gen) lifters.
Our cars have come in both 5sp and 6sp. The 6 speed manual was introduced for the RT/TT and VR4 in 1994 and was maintained through the rest of the run (1996 for the Stealth and 1999 for the 3000GT).
You've come to the right place!!
You might also want to check out stealth316.com and 3swiki.org. Good luck!
1995 VR4, 400hp/350ftlbs built by 3SX.
Cool .. Thanks I will check out those places too ... Is the 6speed and better besides overdrive or stronger .. I may choose a 94 or newer then
