What did you do today to your 3/S?

More work on the turbo swap. Buttoned up all the misc crap that's "in the way" of the front turbo.

Didn't like bending the stock hard line, so I went AN. Will do the same on the rear turbo. The 2 lines closest to the engine line up fine so I kept those stock.

Going to take one more look and see if I can get the front top heat shield off to clean up the rust and paint it. It wasn't coming off easily before, and I could move it around to get to the turbo bolts, so I left it alone.

But it doesn't look so great.

battery relocation pretty much completed. just some minor things left to do.

Finally almost back on the road. I've done more work in the past 2 days on my car than the last year. I have about 30min before it will move. Pressure test and everything maybe two hours.

Wow TSB those housings are bad ass!

Put new leather on the passenger seat and rebuilt my driver side window regulator. A little JB Weld and some TLC and the window is like new! I've missed working on it the past couple of years. Glad to have it going again :)

Thanks! I started on it last fall but kind of gave up on it for awhile. I was porting the exhaust manifolds and even with the front welded the wall was thin enough in some spots it could peel off into the turbine. I was undecided that point if I wanted to weld the cast iron back up, finish smoothing the port, or go with a less serious port on another set of manifolds. I'm leaning more towards a milder port but in the meantime I finished the turbine housings. It helped I purchased a 60 gallon air compressor to run a die grinder. A twin tank compressor wasn't cutting it. I wish I would have upgraded a year or two ago. I don't know how much the gasket matching on the exhaust side will help but using carbide bits, sanding rolls, and cross buffs I can get it really smooth. Had I spent more time on the sanding marks it could have been a mirror shine.

I want to get my car back together and at least this is a good step. The 20Ts are ready. I'm taking my 5-speed to a good 3S friend to install a bell housing brace, pin all of the races so they don't spin, fix the busted ear on my bell housing, make a custom size shim so I'm not stacking multiple shims behind the races, and preload it with the Quaife and SCE center diffs. I should also be pulling the motor and tranny soon for the swap and hopefully my first time painting an engine bay will go well. I wanted to step back from selling parts so I could get work done on my car instead. I've neglected it too long almost a year and a half now.

Didn't have much time today. I installed the AN port fittings, wastegate, and oil drain on the rear 13T and got it situated on the mani.

Also couldn't get the front-top heatshield off without moving the AC compressor (and, meh, didn't care enough to deal with that) so I got rid of much of the rust with scotchbrite and steel wool. Much better than the dull rusty look in my previous post.

I just wiped down the interior again & recharged the desiccant filters to keep the possibility of any mildew at a minimum...It would have been much more fun if I was actually prepping it for the UMG instead. :(

Listed pretty everything that wasn't bolted down (and even some stuff that was) for sale..Now that I'm working and going to have income rolling in, plus summer here and I have no classes, I'd like to try to wrap this rebuild up and hopefully have the car able to move under its own power by August at least. Enough that I could drive it onto a trailer or something and tow it up to school to work on it at my leisure. Also, my lease is up at the end of July and reallllly don't want to have to move all these parts as well..Especially since I don't know yet if I'll be able to rent a house to myself.
