Back To Basics: Budget Rebuild
I too took some time away from school after rather shitty circumstances, so I know where you're coming from. I began as an engineering student, switched to a business admin major a year & a half in (international marketing as I enjoyed more of the business side of product development & sales), studied abroad, spent a shit ton abroad for schooling & was on track to have my degree, but came back to find out that my university wasn't going to consider three of my credits.
After being pissed for two years, I reapplied as a distance learning student & just finalized everything last December as a general business admin major...It's not my international business degree like I wanted, but now I'm continuing through my internship as a business analyst & that'll look great on my résumé once I begin my search for my ideal position.
If you can afford to take on the additional debt (read: Ramon for meals), I would stick it out with engineering; all of the people I knew from college have all landed great career paths by utilizing their civil, computer & mechanical eng. degrees. The initial costs will pay dividends on the back end. ;)
