So you are telling if I used the 99 SL ecu with a 99 SL Rom(reflashed to my needs) with the 99SL Knock sensor that they will be still an issue with false knock readings. Have you guys tested a TT car with a 99 SL ECU and 99 SL knock sensor to confirm this? What other hardware you are talking about that is part of the knock system?Quote:

Well now we know that the sensor itself is the same. It makes sense that the 2 engines are read differently on the ECU end. I can imagine that noise readings from an SL will vary from the readings on a TT. Considering a fair bit more "noise" is coming from a TT, the SL circuitry could be a little more sensitive, and understandably so.
I realize that someone is very sure that the circuit is different. They probably do not want to post that info because this kit can be a money maker. Again, thats understandable. All of the ECU's that are not an original vr4 have their issues. Id like to see the price of a kit soon though. Harness+Flash cable+ECU+disc with all the software, logger too. That would be a cool kit!
If you have an SL and you use a 99' SL ecu your knock will read correctly. If you have a TT car and use a 99' SL ecu that is unmodified you will not get accurate knock readings, you would get phantom knock.Quote:

My understanding is that once some dyno testing is completed kits containing harnesses, ecus, and basic rom flashes will be sold. Awaiting confirmation from Brett and Jeff. Brett has mapped out the TT circuit and the circuit on some na ecu's. He is supposed to talk to Jeff to figure out where Jeff pulled the info that the SL and TT circuit are the same.Quote:
