His car is light to, so nothing wrong with that.

As far as the wiring i think im going to move both fuseboxes to the center and redo it all. Extend each plug one by one to where in needs to be so the is no extra wiring, there will be almost nothing from the engine bay (at least thats the goal), and there will be more space where my feet were so i dont have to worry about stepping on the fusebox when i get in the car.

Work should start on that in a few weeks once i paint the engine bay and set the engine back in.

I'm ready for more progress pics. :)

I would love to do this. Sean Johnson and I were talking about doing this. Strip down a 1st gen vr4 and run it on e85. Nothing too big, just something fun to race.

Nice, can't wait to see progress pics. You doing tube front for the headlight buckets crossmember?

Here ya go :)

I broke my last spot weld bit last week so i didnt get to do much until last night when the new ones came in. Drilled out the last 2 seat brackets and started attacking the tunnel. Its hard to tell from the picks, but theres a LOT of welds on this thing, it wasnt easy.

However its done and im happy with the results, a little over 20 more pounds out of the car, and i think it looks a lot cleaner now, theres a few holes to fill, then its time to mock up the seat and start the cage.

On to the pictures, turn away now if you dont like drilling into cars :P

The main piece was 14.6 pounds.

Aren't you sacrificing a good deal of structural rigidity? Are you going to cage it?

Someone already asked that, yes he is putting a cage in.

can you get some more pics of the seat mounts in and out of the car? I've been wondering if it's worth it to cut those out and do custom mounts welded to the tunnel and the side for some extra headroom...

I made custom seat brackets that put my aftermarket seats as low as possible on stock mounts and my head still touches alittle bit. I have to recline the seat back some so it doesnt touch and theirs no way im getting a helmet on right now..
