99 Montero ECU, 92 Stealth TT

@HLxDrummer - I have forwarded your request for a ECU mod to the person responsible for that portion of the project at this time. Since you are coming over from an e-Manage setup you are a good candidate for helping with working out any issues while tuning.

As far as size, I run a TRUE 99 VR4 with 450cc and TD04L-15G's with no problem at 9 to 10 psi. I am a little lean over that because I still have a stock FPR and I might need bigger injectors. . . . LOL

If there are any other e-Manage or e-Manage Ultimate users that want to convert, you make good beta test candidates. Please PM me or Gate and we can talk.

@Greg - yes I am on board . . . we just want to get the basics stable first . . . ROM changes are easy once you get the other stuff worked out.

Not to sound like a cheap ass but why should 94+ guys pay for a OBD2 connect? I know this is a ball park price but boomslang price their conversion harness from $150 for something like this.

Will you guys give info on how to modify the ecus ourselves? I would like to do this as cheap as possible. Thanks for the GREAT discovery. :D

I would like to make my own harness also. Basically for this set up I need Evoscan + OBDII Mitsu datalog and reflash cable, 98-99 Montero ECU, OBDII port(buy from Evoscan or cut from junkyard), and Mistu Reflash Connector. Correct?

Why do you have the Tactrix Cable?

Whens the picture of your harness coming? :)

I wish I could beta test for you guys but the only thing I got to do with my EMU was datalog :(.

I cant wait for all the info on this :D This seems pretty rockin.

You need the tactrix cable & obd2 to connect to the ecu.

Actually the 2 Gen guys are not paying for a OBDII port . . . the 1 Gen guys get it for free. And since you can buy a 2 Gen 3000GT to 3 Gen Montero or 2 Gen 3000GT to 3 Gen Diamante ECU conversion harness from some one else for $150 . . . go ahead and buy it. Let me know how that works out for you.

The adapter harness will not be like a boomslang harness at all. 94+ guys wont need the OBD2 connection, just the reflash. If you re-read what Brett said, he said the 1G harness will include a OBDII connector, and all will get the reflash enable pin.

Not at this time. There are just to much that needs to be modified, and to many different ECUs.

Uhhh . . . in a nut shell . . . No! Information on how to modify the ECU will not be given out. Sorry. See prior post http://www.3sgto.org/showthread.php?...ll=1#post33139

Once Again . . . Harness Adapter (retail available soon in time for X-Mass), Custom MODIFIED ECU (you supply per our part number or we supply), Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 (ONLY the 2.0 will work for programming), EVOScan v2.7 (FOR DATALOGGING), ECUFlash (For PROGRAMMING).

Total price will still be way less than retail for an AEM EMS Series 2 ($1,260.00) plus $$$$ for install and $$$$ for tuning!

Priced under retail for a Greddy e-Manage Ultimate ($680.00) with a 3 Gen boom harness ($269.00)

Now I know you can find it cheaper on eBay, your cousin's uncle, or the guy down the street . . . so then go that route. I refer back to the prior post in reference to why it is the way it is.

Thanks for clearing some things up... but I have some question regarding DOHC 98-99 3s ECU's. Correct me if I am wrong but you guys are telling me it does not matter whether you have DOHC 98-99 3S ECU or a non 3S ECU you will need your harness and the ECU needs to be modify for certain things to work like the knock sensor? Have guys compared the differences between a 3s 98-99 TT ECU vs a 3s DOHC 98-99 ECU?

No one has done the swap yet, but if all goes well, I'll be undertaking this very soon.

Well the DOHC still had the knock sensor, but the pinout for each ECU wasn't identical. Tha NAs had some things the Turbos didn't and vice versa. So an adapter harness would most likely still be needed. I however, do not know without checking both ECUs out side by side.
