That's one of things that has always bothered me about dropping the car is how the wheel well area looks somewhat off at the sideskirt and bumper area. Not sure what it or how it could be fixed

Easy. Fender flares that mask the gap, combined with extensions to the skirts/bumpers that match. Then you don't have to worry about ground clearance from lowering it--and you still get reduced "gappage" on all sides. I'm still brainstorming on how this can be done with the stock bumpers...but I'm sure it can--even if it means that the bumper & fender have to be "tied together" for structural reinforcement against buffeting.
The buffeting concern is why I'm not sure how it could be done. Perhaps if the fender flares/extensions were metal and offered mounting points, then extensions to the bumper and side skirts could be molded to those respective pieces and fastened
I'm guessing that's the only way. Bolt-on flares & bolt-on extensions.
Or you just buy this kit.

All I see is boobs.
Considering the price of that, I doubt that is the most efficient way to do it. I mean, it was what, 5k+ for the kit alone?
I think a decently thick sheet metal replacement wide body quarter and some plastic extensions for the bumpers and skirts would likely fix it and keep a more factory line.
plus the fact the kit throws off all the stock body lines...and replaces the urethane parts with fiberglass.
That's the original kit from Yatt Car in Thailand and it costs about USD$20,000. C7 carbon aka "those dodgy c#nts" stole the design and sell inferior copies for about $5,000. If you could replicate the way this kit fills in the wheel arches with a bolt-on flared arch that integrated with the arches and mold into the side skirts and bumper. Would be VERY hard to do and not make it look stupid.
