Look on the bright side: Before the rebuild, did you ever go a year on less than a single tank of gas?

Open loop or closed?
My Spyder runs AWESOME (and sounds great) with an open loop Tial knockoff (better than Zach's real Tial :) )
My Stealth struggles with the same bov, not very happy with open loop, has always had super rich trims (which I can't figure out...all stock stuff, no leaks)...
It seems that open loop is hit or miss by car and even by build....don't know why....
I KNOW you will sort things out...good luck!!
Bob. :)
Mine is closed loop. Pretty sure that open loop will run rich with the metered air escaping.
Yeah I must say I have already got past the sickening feeling in my stomach when I turn the key. Now I'm getting more and more confidence in the car again and I've also read a lot about Chrome at this point. I feel like I can get a basic tune without much trouble.
With Greg's help I sorted out the rough idle / cruise issue which turned out to be the right and left bank o2 sensor wire were swapped in my Blackstealth adapter harness. Details http://www.3sgto.org/tuning-engine-e...xperience.html
She did limp over to the all Mitsu meet in November as you guys may know. I was complaining to Steve (Chargerx3) about how she doesn't run right and he rode with me. I couldn't resist the urge to hit boost so I really didn't demonstrate the problem for Steve.
Anywhoo - She is now FIXED! The problem was Blackstealth F'd up my clone ECU adapter harness. He had the right bank (1,3,5) and the left bank (2,4,6) o2 sensor wires swapped which basically meant that the car couldn't run properly in closed loop. After swapping them back to the correct positions she idles and runs like a champ. And she pulls like a mofo :)
So, from here it is just tuning.
I have a hot wire that totally skips the power resistors and does the hi/low voltage switching to provide about 10V at idle and 12.5V at WOT. These are measured at the FP hat. Using the Supra pump flow chart that Jeff Lucious posted I should have enough fuel to hit 15 psi on my DR650s

I also have plans for a fuel pump voltage booster similar to a Kenne Bell BAP. My design goals are for a two step box that does 10V idle and 14-15V WOT with a plug and play connection to the stock harness. No extra wiring will be needed! This should give me enough fuel for 25 psi!
I also have to put in the EVO399 MAF to allow higher air flow. The MAF and TB size might end up being my limitation in WHP.
Also have an IPS downpipe and test pipe coming courtesy of the BF sale. Need to hook up the UEGO wideband as well. Fun times ahead!!
I'd be interested in that pump booster you're talking about. If you end up selling them.
Awesome news Jim!!! :)
Sorry you had to fight it....
Bob. :bigthumb:
Good job!
Time to start enjoying your hard work. ;)
Just a clarification, Antonio's is not the only harness reversed. All builders had the issue as it is in the schematics incorrect.
Great to see you have officially passed me up! I am still fighting demons as you tune. :p Awesome stuff sir!
