Finally after over a year of waiting, I got my billet strut covers :D

After a little wet sanding and polishing love, it's a mirror. One down one to go.

Of course, like all custom machined parts... I had to do a little fitting. Unlike the rubber covers, these don't expanded or contort. So I had to sand a little on the inside to fit around the strut mount frame lip, and enlarge the holes slightly. But it only took about 1/2 hour to get it to fit perfectly. I think I'm going to cut off the mounting points on the OEM with the little plug bracket and use it on these so the wires are not just hanging there. And yes, there is a little notch for the wire to come through. The guy got everything right.

I don't know if it would actually be worth it. If you hold the covers together, they are the same. But then you will notice the rubber ones has some give and whatnot, which is why you can finagle them on. Anybody with a small sanding flapper wheel and a drill/dremel can do a little sanding on the inner rim. And I'm sure the aliment on the driver's side will be slightly different than the passenger's side. I have only fitted the passenger's side right now.

Dan, the guy who made these, worked/works for Billet Technology. But he bought his own CNC machine, so I think he is trying to start his own business. He said now that he has it all programed, it would take no longer than two weeks to get a set out the door. I don't know how much he would charge because I got a discount because I was stupidly patient for over a year. I would speculate it would be around $300-$350. Maybe cheaper in a group-buy, but I'm not doing a group buy for them again LOL.

Got this in the mail today,everything was in the package. I also mated to the bell housing of a awd 5speed I had laying around when I have time to pull my 6 speed out I'll be sure to do a write up on how it bolts up the frame and if any issues come up.

yeah i think when they resprayed my rear quarter it was $200 in material and $1000 in labor.
