You have the right guy. I put in a slightly used stock TT shorty. Replaced bellhousing and Tcase housing. Both were broken from 74 rod snapping.

So that is a stock 6G72 sounding like that? Is it the exhaust set-up or do you have different cams in the heads?
No downpipe (need to get it modified to fit the 72, since it was modded for the 74.) Mildly ported TT heads and upgraded cams. Idling around 1000rpm.
Sweet, good to see your car running again :D So is the current set-up something temporary or is it something you are planning on pushing?
Undetermined at this point. Needs a lot of tuning, since a couple things have changed. Warm idle is good. Hot start is good. Cold start is good. Cold idle needs a little work yet and haven't even started on any pulls yet. Hoping to have time to cut and weld my downpipe tonight before daughters game and then do a pull tomorrow with the coldside pipe undone to get an idea of the VE curve of motor and how close I am on fueling.
Depending on how I like this setup will determine if I build my spare 2-bolt block or go for a built 74.
Drove it and enjoyed the new power level. It's as though my gears have changed. 3rd gear feels like 2nd used to, and 2nd gear feels like 1st used to. 1st goes by so quick I can't really gauge it. :) Wonder how much more power I need to make 3rd feel like 1st used to. :suspect:
Dropped off the re-re-built calipers and the powdered rear rotors to Sublime_whatigot (Matt) tonight I get the following picture and news that they do not leak.
