re-re-built my rear powder coated calipers. Last year when I re-built them and installed them, they leaked just sitting on the car...literally gravity bleeding out the pistons.
Before calling them scrap, I ordered Mitsubishi rebuild kits and wanted to try one more time.
When popping the pistons out and removing the ring gaskets I see that two look like so:

Two:

Well now that explained the leak
Re-built them with the Mitsu. parts and made a crude test setup. Attached an old brake line to the caliper, opened the bleeder, filled the caliper / line until it was full of fluid. Closed the bleeder and attempted to pump 135 PSI into it via my compressor.

Granted I didn't get the full 135 into the line and no it is nowhere near the PSI that they must endure, but I know that they didn't leak at all, and that is a positive step in the right direction compared to them leaking just sitting on the car.
I don't feel I will be wasting my time installing them on the car with how the tested out on the work bench. Hopefully, that was the only issue was the rings.
