Riddick
The new movie is badass. It has a very good Pitch Black feel too it. I really really hope they make another, that series is killer.

Cloud Atlas. What the actual fuck did I just watch? 4/10. It gets a couple points for having interesting stories but would have been better had they been on their own. Also a couple points because boobies.

Anchorman 2. rating 7.5. it was hilarious but predictable and a little "over done" at times but overall worth it. double worth it for me since I went Christmas day and while I was standing in line a guy came up and asked if anyone was going to see this. I said that I was and he said "then here's a ticket. we had an extra Merry Christmas.". WIN! :)
Prisoners. rating 8. pretty damn good actually. I didn't like the end but I'm kinda being picky.
as long as anchorman 2 was better than anchorman 1.5
I rarely have patients for that brand of humor.

like we all know Brick is dumb but at times it seemed like that they rode that horse a little to far. it was like, "ok we get it. he's dumb and it's funny". but that was a very small fraction.
Turbo
I absolutely adore this movie!
Mike and I both had a good time watching it.
For those of you that did the Indy lap at NG11 you have to watch it!
Just a feel good entertaining family movie that any car person will enjoy.
12 years a slave. I thought it was absolutely amazing. Just spectacular acting, directing, production.
Saw Wolf of Wall Street last night ... holy shit. That's all I can say. I almost suffocated laughing. The movie is gruesome, dark, violent, and incredibly sexual (LOTS of nudity) but sooo funny
I watched Runner Runner the other night.
Pretty good movie. Some good acting.
I heard they say the F-word more than a porn flick, a record I believe.
I watched Madame Curie (1943) last night. I really liked it but I might enjoy it more than most because I've been in the radiation business for almost 25 years now. She is sort looked up to in my line of work.
I saw a bootleg of Gravity, man I wish I would have seen it in I-max. It was still good though.

The only thing that beats it is a documentary of the word.
I didn't really expect to see Good Will Hunting in there lol
Haha, that's funny ... I didn't even notice it during the movie, probably because everything else happening is that much more insane. That movie is certainly not for everyone!
I guess I need to see it. I'll probably wait for DVD though. I rarely make it to the theater anymore.
Prisoners - 7/10 A little slow at first, but it got going, and the end caught me off guard. It is a oddly directed film, but it's worth watching.
summer of sam had more per minute. i didn't really notice. reservoir dogs had almost as many per minute...didn't really bother me.
going to re-watch "it hits the fan" from south park now...
Olympus has Fallen 6/7
White House Down. 7/8
I am reviewing these together because they are so similar. Both are fun summer popcorn action movies. I am sure they are full of technical issues but watching them I just did not care.
I expected Olympus to be the better movie because White House was done by Roland Emmerich(Godzilla, 2012, Day After Tomorrow) but I was wrong. I enjoyed it more. To me its plot seemed slightly more reasonable. (but not much)
Turn your brain off and enjoy them for what they are.
Bad Grandpa
7.5/10
It was a hilarious movie, tho I can say I expected way more. But, funny none the less.
Rush 8/10
Mama
There are few horror films that really creep me out but this one made me jump more then once.
Ending was predictable in some ways but not totally.
That Awkard Moment.
2/10 wtf! without looking I'm going to assume this was written by a woman that has never been around men. seriously any female that watches and thinks this is how guys act when....well ever will be sorely mistaken. it was just bad. do not watch. unfortunatlly I wanted to do the horizontal polka so this was the price for admission. :)
Doomsday. 2/10. My rating doesn't go lower because I have actually seen 0/10 movies before, and they're more difficult to watch than Super Bowl XLVIII as a Broncos fan. Campy, formulaic and just completely tacky. Only person of note in the movie is the female lead who is the same chick that played Sonya in the Underworld series.
Now You See Me. 8/10. Pretty good caper flick. Plus it has Isla Fisher.....SCHWING!
I saw a lot more than these recently, but I forgot to post and lost track. Gotta go see robocop here pretty soon.... I'm not holding my breath (Verhoeven isn't directing) but I'm optimistic.
Lone Survivor...10/10
Rock of Ages 6/10
It's been out a while but I just saw it. It was entertaining, lots of hot chicks and the music wasn't bad.
i haven't seen it. i heard that cruise isn't as good as he was in tropic thunder.
12 Years a Slave...
Warning, this is no means a "feel-good" movie. It's probably pretty accurate on how slaves were treated and was pretty heavy. Not wanting to give away too much, but I thought it would have been more uplifting in the end.
It's based on a true story, but is probably one of those movies that you see only once. When I left the theater I kept thinking...White people suck!
The acting was good, cinematography was very realistic, just depressing. That being said, I'd still give it a 7/10.

white people suck?
...so it was directed by spike lee? :suspect:
sounds like the goal of the movie was achieved. got to keep white guilt strong and fresh.
The Philosophers. 7/10, maybe a bit higher. Fairly interesting premise. Ending felt a bit contrived. I also have cognitive dissonance with the idea that a philosophy teacher can be someone who subscribes to such emotional pedestrianism.
The place beyon the pines 3/10
Came across as an indy flick, but turned out pretty ordinary. Like most movies where they have a chance to make a memorable movie and kill off someone in the end, everybody lives, main characters ride off into the sunset, and I throw the fucking remote!
It started good but it turned out shit imo. It's like they used left over bits from Chronicles (how he got to that planet) and then the taking poison/raising puppy litter thing made me go, wtf???
