Memphis was easy because the food network talked about it all the time.

Porters steakhouse in the doubletree has a great breakfast buffet.

Where to eat all depends on what you like. Here is a local magazine dedicated to food in the STL area:

The one food recomendation I do think people should look into, if you have never had them before, is a bbq pork steak. For some reason these delicous things don't seem to be too prevelant outside the midwest.
