Jason is pretty much on target, the main focus of the material choice was durability so these splitters will take more than their fair share of abuse and look no worse for the wear. The material is very abrasion and impact resistant, and it will maintain its shape quite well. I have personally bottomed my splitter out on pavement and even gravel without damaging it. I even dug it in deep enough in the gravel that it literally shoveled gravel over the top. I would expect the mounting bolts to bend and the Aluminum support brace to bend prior to the splitter actually breaking.
As for ease of removal it goes on and off with 8 bolts, 4 on the corners of the bumper cover and 4 on the sub-frame. So if you need to remove it isn't tough. But it is designed such that it won't have to come off for basic maintenance and/or towing; you can still do oil changes, check and/or fill your transmission, as well as get to your front tow hooks wiht the splitter installed.
Is there any plan for fitment on a 1g stealth? I really want to get this, but I don't want to have to get a new bumper too...
Any reason it sticks out so far on the 99 nose vs the 97/8 one?

No clearance hole for the front crossmember jacking point. Is this an issue? Do you guys with lowered cars have a low profile jack? Mine barely fits under my lowered car without even considering the 0.5 inch splitter thickness.
.I hear that. same here. That would be a good thing to cut out if possible even if it was just a 2" x 2" so some sort of jack could slip in to help support the front of the car. I hate putting pressure on the sides if I can avoid itQuote:
