While tantalizing, I think im going to keep it in microcontroller territory for now. PIC has quite a few AEC-Q100 qualified controllers, so I think it will fine.

Those are both micro controllers, iirc isn't the PIC30F a ds variant? Regardless, there's a good chance some flavor of the PPC is in many daily drivers! But good luck! Get something with memory!
Just deciding to bump this up with a short update. Still working on this readily...kind of getting bogged down by the amount of writing we need to do for the project, but its moving along.
Im starting to get my parts in, i have broken the design up into chunks and things look great. Currently have a PIC24FJ256GB110 in my hands. Will be using it for the prototype at least, and will see how things work out. The goal by april / may is to have it control injectors, spark, and the IAC as minimally as possible, just enough to get the car to start and idle. I've also been working on noise and isolation issues.
My patch harness is also near complete so ill be able to start taking some oscilloscope readings soon :)
What compiler did you end up going with, or are you using Microchip's MPLAB (or whatever) software?
This sounds awesome...
Good luck! I want one!!!
