I was in 10th grade English class when the first tower was hit, but the teachers didn't really say much, it wasn't until my next class, French class, that they said the second tower was hit and it was pretty much confirmed as a terrorist attack. Flashbulb memory is an interesting thing. Can remember the teachers reaction, and can picture where I was sitting in each class. Since then, I became a Firefighter, EMT, and joined the AF.
You made me feel old as balls. I was a freshman in college and I was in the cafeteria to get some lunch. I saw everybody staring at the TV and I was wondering what was going on. Then I saw it...
I was sleeping...woke up to take out trash and saw what was happening and went back to bed. I was 21!
I was in my sophomore year of college.
Woke up and was getting ready for class when the report of the first plane crashing came on the news. It was still thought to be an accident at that point.
I called my sister (she lives in Brooklyn, but at this time she worked in Manhattan and her boyfriend worked across the street from the Twin Towers.
All cell towers were flooded, I never got a hold of her until later in the day after both towers fell. It was a freaky time for me until I found out that everyone I knew was okay.
All my classes were canceled for the day, all of us were just glued to the TV.

Being on the west coast, this happened at 6 in the morning, I remember waking up...turning on the news...then my jaw dropped as the plane was flying into the second building thinking it was unreal and unbelievable.
I was getting ready for school (I was a senior in high school). I walked across the house and my dad was watching the news, I don't remember much from that day. I went to school and then I went to work. I went out with some friends that evening and I had to get gas on my way home, the lines to the pump were so long, I remember gas being "sold out" for days. I had tickets to the Pledge of Allegiance (SOAD, SlipKnot, Rammestein, MudVayne) tour a few days later and we almost didn't go because of the fear of the large gathering...
I was in Ecology Class. There was a lot of confusion that morning, especially before the 2nd tower was hit. The whole school was fairly silent the rest of the morning watching the TVs in their rooms. IIRC, the afternoon was reasonably normal as far as classes go.
9 years ago, I was 33 years old, and driving to work, and heard it on the radio. I got to work in time to see the second tower hit, I think. Then they sent us home.
I'd just gotten out of the hospital after surgery from a burst appendix; I almost died.
Left with a massive wound that remained open for a few more weeks (I don't really know why), the first opportunity I could get out of bed and slowly move was on 9/11.
I saw the whole thing. I was extremely pissed because I was mostly unable to move most of the time and all that was on TV was the stupid 9/11 crap. Nothing else aired for weeks and it was all that anyone in my house wanted to watch. It was the most boring surgery recovery ever!
I just wanted to watch the Simpsons but it was stolen from me... by terrorists!
Video's were confiscated because it was of the PENTAGON. Do you think the government wants videos of a major military insitution to be out there for anyone to see? Conspiracy theorists theorys have been blown out of the water on everything else, including a "missile" hitting the Pentagon. There was actual plane debris and real people that died on that flight.Quote:
