i generally drive with a heavy foot, and the vr4 is a big toy to me, so i drive pretty fast in it. when im in the vr4 in particular, its one extreme or the other. if its a nice day out, i will have no problem cruising around, but sometimes i just get an itch and roast all 4 coming off the line just for the sake of doing it.
I agree. There's a time and a place for driving fast. In bumper to bumper traffic in downtown isn't that time. I generally restrict my fast driving to interstate trips, or hitting up the twisties.Quote:

Although I do have a tendency to get to around 15 in first at average acceleration, then shift to 2nd and go WOT up to 45 (if that's the speed limit) just to feel it spool. One time I did that I had a Chevy Cruze that thought we were racing, it was hilarious because from 2500-4500 rpm in 2nd for me matched his car redlining in 1st gear. Just imagine if I had been in the proper gear.

When not in VR4, I drive for best MPG. Take off slow, but pass everyone a few moments after as I keep the rpms low at highest gear possible. Most of the time that means going above speed limit. But it all depends on the situation. I rarely drive my VR4 on the streets now.
It really depends. It seems silly to go WOT in 1st, it is just such overkill most of the time. It is not even really safe with the condition of the roads here. Ruts and bumps can pull you around quite a bit, I don't like wrestling the steering wheel that much close to other cars.
I do tend to go 40-50% in 1st for a bit and get on it harder in 2nd to feel the torque.
Very rarely. 90% of the time I am driving very conservatively trying to be easy on the car/save gas. Just driving around town and doing DD activities I rarely get over 3,000 RPM and that is when I am climbing a hill and don't want to bog the next gear.
The other 10% of the time if the road is open ahead and I am the first one in line I may wind out first and second a bit just for my own enjoyment.
