NG13 Is Coming!!!

Once again the Boohoo's are pissing on me. My Mrs is having surgery the last week of June, and will be in no position to make the trip. :sad:

I WILL make one of these damn things!

I'm ready, got vacation in for the week. Not just to drive the 6 hours to get there.

I have a pretty good idea which one you're going to pick anyway, assuming all the numbers work out. ;) Completely by accident, I stayed the night in the area when I drove through to MI back in mid-Jan. The hotel I stayed at SCREAMED "NG hotel". There were a few others in the vicinity that would also work out very nicely.

Maybe I'll be right....maybe not. Who gives a shit? I try to say something positive, I tell everyone I know that these NGs are a kick ass event despite my personal issues with you, and still you have to have some smart-assed reply.

Same for me. I am hoping to make this my first NG but can only do the weekend. Oh well, the drags haven't been turning out super quick times to watch anyway.

Hope to pile the family in a the tow rig as well.

Based on having been a full week participant for several years now I would say this is a bad bet.


As for the weekenders only being there in time for auto-cross I would suggest this:

From a participation stand point, I think the auto-x will put a bigger smile on your face than the drags would, and it is way less likely to break your car. To date I think the only car that broke the day of the auto-x was Bob's car and that was on the commute to the track and not even during the event.

The cost to participate is low, the risk factor to yourself is low, the risk factor to your car is low, and the fun factor is high. Easy choice imo.

Regarding the auto-x....

The track set up last year was a lot bigger and faster than I'd generally expect. After seeing it, I really wish I had been able to run it.

Can we get some general guidance as to whether the 2013 track will be a bigger, faster track like 2012, or will it be a smaller, more 'traditional' auto-x?

The main reason I ask is, I'll probably be driving my Spyder, and I've got no interest in wrestling that overweight pig around a tight, technical course. If it's a more open course like 2012, I'll probably sign up.
