Thanks a lot, Chris. I'm not expecting anything spectacular at the Texas Gathering. I'm currently planning to dyno on pump gas because I've always wondered what that number would be... The only time I really raced it with pump gas, I feel like I left some power on the table (didn't bring laptop), and it still trapped 126. Besides, I'm not interested in pushing it to 30+ psi to find it pushes coolant on the dyno. Depending on the dyno results, I will either dump in C16 or race on 93. If it pushes coolant at the track, so be it :)
I demand a ride hahah
You still have that old thing!
Good luck at the track and have fun.
I'll post more details later, but for now -

So when I ran up to the tech inspection and found out they were only doing 1/8th mile, I was bitching at the guy and he claimed the "flyer" for the event said it would only be 1/8th mile. Then Scott spoke with someone else who said the big end of the track was closed because of the cross wind.
Here's the flyer - (hint: there's no mention that they'd only be using half of the 1/4 mile track)

...So I guess it WAS because of the cross wind.
Sigh.
I never really pay attention to my 1/8th miles, so I thought my runs today were all total shit. Of my eight embarrassing passes, my best runs were:
(I'm comparing these to my spreadsheet of past 1/4 mile pulls, boost documented, essentially the same setup)
7.95 @ 88.65 @ 20.6 psi, 1.93 60' ... guess: ~12.5 @ ~120
7.45 @ 92.40 @ 22.5 psi, 1.66 60' ... guess: ~11.5 @ ~125
8.01 @ 94.92 @ 25.1 psi, 2.06 60' ... guess ~ 12.0 @ ~126
7.71 @ 96.11 @ 28.8 psi, 1.87 60' (spun thru 1st, should have rode the rev limiter longer) ... guess: ~11.5 @ ~128
So mid 11's... Alright, I guess. I never hooked up my laptop and I have no idea what the tune is doing except that it's fairly rich and there's 0 knock. (C16)
It's been so long, I'm officially terrible at launching. In '06, when I ran the 10.5@135, I had to remove my spoiler, passenger seat, interior, etc to weigh 3290. Today it weighed 3245 lbs at the end of the night (3266 at the beginning) :)
I guess it's time to install my f'ing datalogger. That palm pilot is going to ugly up my interior LOL
If your shit runs at the end of the day..............then it was a good day.
What has been removed to get your weight down even though you reinstalled weight?
It was good seeing the car in action regardless of how it ran.
Great thread.
Really glad that you got back into wrenching on your car when time permitted. You were one of the few TRUE privateers many years ago that provided incredible results - only matched at the time by shop built/dedicated cars. Your efforts definitely helped spark interest in TD05 builds for other owners. I remember when you first had those 14bs rocking and rolling (along with MJannusch) before most people even had a clue what a TD05 turbo was. Glad to see you're back in the game Adam. Threads like this motivate me to keep my car and keeping pushing forward.
The only question I have is... When are you gifting that beast with some new rims?
Regards,
JR
